Let's do away with the separation of church & state

Appreciate your feedback

Let’s say the next appointment your bishop has is not with a Republican operative trying to figure out the best way to take liberties away from those whom the church and the party detest. Instead it is with a rep from the county assessors office armed with a measuring stick demanding access to all church properties.

Catholics have no respect for the separation of church and state. They are happy with the status quo. Maybe we could make it tenuous. There is no doubt in my left handed logic lizard brain that the current pope would put an end to the current partnership between his church and trumps party if not acting would cost the church billions. We’d find out what the church truly values.

Pipe dream? No doubt. So was the end of slavery. Women voting. Gay marriage. Dare I say abortion.

And a personal thank you to the women in this country who know what liberty and Justice are all about and put their shoulders behind those gems.

I want to whack the Catholic Church not Catholics. I’m a recovering catholic. If one is a catholic who voted for Biden why in the hell would they support the churches destruction of constitutional liberties of half the population. Maybe the conversation would change at the after mass coffee when participants would have to discuss taxation instead of hate. I fail to see the value of 47% of any group voting for a serial lying moral degenerate conman. I know that 47% and they make me want to puke.

and bound inextricably to the Trumpist party--the Opus Dei minority views of those on SCOTUS notwithstanding. And your attempts to tie the current Pope to an alliance with the far Right Trumists in this country is ludicrous. Are there extremists within the US Bishops and some like-minded Cardinals in Europe? Yes. but Pope Francis is more likely to be at risk FROM them than allied WITH them to effect some political aim in the US. Frankly, I have long thought they might try to take him out for his comparatively more moderate views overall. He's no progressive ideal, granted. But nor is he like his predecessor, the all-but Fascist Ratzinger.

Your lingering animosity toward the catholic church aside (which I do understand), perspective...

Is the best thing going for the Catholic Church. I dread whomever his replacement might be. I wasn’t tying him to the knuckleheads amongst us. Quite the contrary

My animosity towards the church I was born into grows by the day. Their tv ads against abortion are mendacity quadrupled. I am more familiar with the Church of Rome then the XIAN Protestants. For good reason both of their numbers are going downward. The hypocrisy of the Catholics in my community is a sight to behold.
