All the tabloids that you find glaring at you as you go through the check out were absent ANYTHING about Trump, J6, or any of the insurrectionist Congresscritters from the House and Senate. Wow.
When Benghazi was going on, Hillary was on every tabloid there was from holding alien babies, to embracing Muslims. I use to spend a lot my time then turning the tabloids around so that the cover wasn't showing. The only thing surprising about this is that it took me so long to notice. I guess because I usually ignore the tabloids. Anyway, "they" told us how they play the game some time ago. The tabloid monopoly is owned by the anti-democracy, anti-truth, anti-fact, fascist-Nazi conglomerate.

(51 posts)Also at the grocery store - When covid hit all the public drinking fountains were turned off. I really thought they were going to be regulated to a quaint bit of history we would tell our grandkids about. Was back at the grocery store yesterday, to my surprise, they're all turned back on and in use. I never thought I'd see that happen. Even in a non-covid world, seeing how kids and even some adults use them, it's discusting. They should be regulated to history.

(30,506 posts)There is nothing wrong with drinking fountains. No one is going to die drinking water from them.

(20,699 posts)I subscribe to Magzter and have access to thousands of magazines (sort of a Netflix to stream magazines), including dozens of "check-out line" magazines, and they are full of Democrat "scandals" (Clintons still seem to be a favorite) and full of praise for "patriots" like Trump and his ilk.
I'm not convinced this content is driven by "market forces", just as I have never been convinced conservative Hate Radio owes its dominance to profitability. I think it is another cheap way to indoctrinate the regular folk in the guise of entertainment. Sadly, these venues are ignored by liberals, who have ceded this fertile ground to the conservative wingnuts.

Although Trump was great for their stories way back when I think Trump saw it as any publicity is good publicity. Im sure was a source for some of their leads like when he called the NY tabloids as John Barron.
