Speaking of John Fetterman's Return to the Campaign Trail

This is why Fetterman's going to win. Simply showing the Great Oz for who and what he is. A far cry from the "Everyman" pose Dr. Oz is desperately trying to portray. His recently purchased house in PA.? That would be house NUMBER NINE.

LOL. Fetterman's team nails this!

and I'd have had a very long list of "notes" for the production team were I involved.

A few:

The use of The Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous credits was clever, but they were up for too long. Time is valuable in spots.

An example of where they could have use the gained time is in the very next scene where Mrs Oz says "welcome to our home." Instead of letting her finish OC they cut way from her before she finishes the line, which takes away the effectiveness of the next shot of their home being a "generator" (that would have played better w/o the overlap). And the shot of that the palatial home was far too short. You need a beat that allow and audience a moment to drink it in and think, "that's f-ed up." They short cut themselves needlessly. That is an editorial mistake and a significant one.

The fonts were dreadful. Were they trying to emulate the stickiness of Lifestyles? Minor stuff, but for me it didn't work.

And most importantly they failed to make it clear just who was speaking as Oz kissed his star on Hollywood Blvd. The ad makers did, in tiny letters (and one a screen cluttered with other graphics) identify who was speaking, but I wonder how many people missed that? Quite a few I'd bet.

So I think his ad team could use some reinforcement with professionals.

We need this win. I'm rooting for Fetterman. The idea was good. The execution was poor in my estimation.

And YES, we NEED this win - and Fetterman IS great!

Maybe send along your thoughts/comments to his team - seems like a worthwhile thing to do.....

Did you know whose voice is being heard as Oz kisses his HWoF star? And, if so, were you certain?

I asked someone on my end to watch it and then asked the same question, and they guessed incorrectly. I'd already surmised that was a problem.

I'm operating from goodwill here. I very much want Fetterman to win.

I am committed to the fight for reproductive freedom. Every one of us deserves that. Dr. Oz thinks Roe was wrongly decided in 1973 and “corrected” this week. The choice is clear.

I just picked it up and thought it was hilarious, particularly on the heels of an Oz ad where he's out in a rural field with a farmer yammering about ordinary people. LOL. His big, fancy car was gleaming in the background.

Visually blind to the extreme.

I like the ad you put up as well. In that one there should be a clip of OZ supporting reproductive rights. Until he didn't. Which was once he hopped on the MAGA bandwidth. The man is the definition of a disingenuous politician, an opportunist who was probably convinced by the Trump team that this race would be a walk in the park.

But then there's John Fetterman, all 6'8" of him, who has already visited every corner of Pennsylvania doing something unthinkable for today's normal politician: he listened to people from blue counties and purple and red.

Every county, every vote!

The man lays out his stands on abortion, voting rights, union membership, environmental concerns and climate change, manufacturing jobs, etc. He doesn't hold back; he is who he is--a great bear of a man ready to fight for Pennsylvanians in DC.

The message is genuine as is the man. The contrast between himself and the Great OZ is huge.

Fetterman's going to win this thing! As for Dr. Oz? He'll get a bruising.

before he pinned this version. IIRC, it was the same video but he had something different in the tweet intro to it.

And regarding Oz's shifting abortion stance - don't forget that he had to get through a primary and his nearest competetor - David McCormick who eventually conceded, was throwing everything including the kitchen sink at him in ads (along with many of the GOP PACs).

For example this was a McCormick ad -

I expect to see Fetterman go there in any case. He has a whole YouTube page of videos over the past couple years including the recent ads - https://www.youtube.com/c/JohnfettermanPA/videos

That one's damning.

And yes, I expect Fetterman to go there, would be genuinely disappointed if he didn't go there particularly in light of the recent SCOTUS decision. There's a definite political shift going on now since the June 24th reversal. Women are pissed from all political persuasions and I don't see that going away anytime soon.

Women have wonderful memories and Karma is a bitch.

He referred to abortion and reproductive rights as 'sacred' during the primary debates and insisted he would use those rights to reproductive autonomy as a litmus tests test for all judges.

Strong language, strong position.

It's where all Democratic nominees need to be.

This is also false.

Furthermore, the entire PA legislature’s term expires on Monday, November 30th and because their election results haven’t been certified (other PAGOP lawsuit 🙄 there wouldn’t even technically be a House or Senate.

They literally could introduce a resolution calling for a ham sandwich to be our state bird.

This isn’t going anywhere.

The grossest part of it all?

No one, from the President on down, honestly believes any of this.

No one.

In three weeks, it’s still just the same two sad cases of voter fraud in PA that, in the final irony, were attempting to both vote for the President.

But don't pretend your 'a man of the people' when your down on all fours smooching your personal star on the Walk of Fame. LOL. Love that picture!

Flip-flopping on reproductive rights by a medical doctor who knows better is the height of being disingenuous, someone willing to say anything for their own ambition.

Oz is killing his own campaign and apparently knows how poorly it's going. I read an article the other day that he and his campaign team were strategizing on a new approach.

Personally? I hope he keeps digging his own political grave.

THAT has been my fantasy!!!

I may be wrong but since we are a neighbor state to NJ, I'm thinking he might hang out with Cory Booker, who is similarly imposing and had run a similar "populist" campaign in NJ (except coming from a large city) when he first ran for Senator (although I know Booker is also a "reach-across-the-aisle Dem" though).
