(15,540 posts)but we need to play the long game here. We need much larger majorities at ALL levels of government, and we need to do what the GOPers do - vote straight Dem ticket all the way down the line.

(7,867 posts)...and the filibuster is gone, which means Roe v. Wade becomes law and won't be subject to Supreme Court whims, not to mention with more Democratic Senators, you could simply expand the court to balance out the stolen seats.

(86,634 posts)We can impeach and remove the illegitimate ones and replace them with actually qualified justices.
AkFemDem
(1,826 posts)(Again) and still nothing changes. The court is a young court- its going to stay this impacted for many years unless the number of justices change and for some reason democrats are loathe to do that.

(19,066 posts)Thomas is in poor health and he very well could be forced to just resign. Alito is no Spring chicken either.
Maybe Roberts will retire in shame for the rest of his life. Holding the Senate in the key! And keeping the White House in 2024 too.

(92,194 posts)need to win the Senate by at least a two seat majority, and maintain the majority in the house

(25,531 posts)By "again," you mean the four months and ten days that Democrats had a filibuster-proof 60 votes during the Obama administration? How does the Biden administration have a filibuster-proof 60 votes now?

(7,867 posts)And we don't have the majority when it comes to anything major due to people like Manchin and Sinema.
If only Republicans had given up on overturning Roe v. Wade the way some so-called Democrats give up on us accomplishing our ideals.

(1,826 posts)After that huge irrational stretch. 🤦🏻?♀️

(7,867 posts)Not simply that you said some irresponsible and ignorant shit and got rightfully called out on it.
AkFemDem
(1,826 posts)They disagreed with what constitutes a majority (which is fair given Manchen and Sinema) Youre the only one who somehow extrapolated a bizarre conclusion that being bitter over the democrats not having pushed for increase bench size was somehow democrats giving up on their ideals. Only you sound like an irrational, ignorant hysteric- and Im only calling you out on it because only you stuck your foot in your potty mouth

(19,956 posts)to 50-50. It is currently being hamstrung by Manchin and Sinema. Get to 52 48 this time while keeping the house and things can finally happen...god knows Pelosi has the bills ready to go.

(86,634 posts)a weak majority for two years, weakened by the opposition who has the power to thwart our efforts to make needed changes. You can't lay this at the feet of Democrats having a "majority" when it is a majority in name only.

(6,531 posts)The only solution is to 1) convict Eastman and Trump; 2) vote every last Repub out of office; 3) expand the Court to counteract the lying SOBs.

(28,941 posts)then this country is doomed. People need to get up off their fucking asses and vote for a change.

(1,782 posts)logic thrown into this disaster.
We have to do it right this time and stop relying on a court full of political appointees to do this stuff. That wasn't in the design.
We need proper lawmakers who are accountable to their constituents, that is the only way the system will level itself and remain stable.
