A key moment in Moss' testimony from yesterday

Was right at the beginning, when Committee Chair Rep. Thompson asked the witness if she would "introduce Mama." Not
"your mother." It lent a personal touch to the moment. Right there, viewers see them as not unlike folks they know, relatives or friends.

Same with Moss' visible anxiety and Thompson's reassurance that she didn't need to be nervous. The average person would consider themselves in that position, empathize with the nerves.

From there forward, the words of those two women did the rest.

and Rep Thompson did the right thing at the right time to put the witness at ease and connect with her. Miss Moss looked like she relaxed immediately.
