I mean...really, awesomely cool!!!

Last Saturday evening was a magical one at the luxe Mayflower Inn & Spa, which was the site of an intimate wedding reception for Brian and Christine Waldron (nee Bizier), a couple dozen friends and relatives—and the 42nd president of the United States.

After a day of enjoying the last blast of fall foliage in Litchfield County, and lunching at Carole Peck’s Good News Cafe in Woodbury, Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton, former President Bill Clinton, their daughter Chelsea Clinton and her husband, Marc Mezvinsky, were the guests of—and dined at—the grand resort near Washington Green.

In the adjacent hall, Mr. and Mrs. Waldron celebrated their union, and save for a few whispers they were mostly unaware that one of the world’s most recognizable families was just on the other side of the wall.

When the reception ended, the newlyweds found themselves in the main lobby, ready to call it a night—but not until after the charismatic Mr. Clinton caught up with them.

“We heard, ‘Hold on, I just wanted to say congratulations,’” recalled Ms. Waldron. “He chased us down, how cool is that?”

He did more than just congratulate them, posing for a few pictures with the couple, signing their wedding plate and responding jovially to a few jokes.
