Did I mishear Chris Christie?

I'm watching a rerun of Ed and could of swore I just heard him tell a lady that was in tears after seeing her home in shambles to "suck it up" and "toughen up".

1. re: inclusion of video --- I heard/saw the raw footage of the conversation.

And heard it again on the radio later. He said something like, "I know (consoling her). We're going to build back up. That's who we are." He spoke quietly and was surprisingly nice.

On Piers' show he is paraphrasing what he said and for some odd reason, maybe to make himself seem more like the bombastic persona we are familiar with, he gave the retelling some zazz.

the only possible thing you can do after something like this has happened is to suck it up, and move on. There is NO OTHER OPTION. We had to do the same thing down here in texas after Ike, and after 2 years of extreme fires breaking out over the last couple of summers. It sucks but it is the ONLY course of action.
