To be fair to Avenatti I would estimate 97% of folksy stories with laborious messages that trial lawyers use in closings are totally invented.
Prosecutors sentencing memo is in for Michael Avenatti in the @StormyDaniels fraud, and they have some news about the when my father was a teenager he sold hot dogs at a ballpark line from closings. 🌭

(40,244 posts)1. He is a fabulist and a con man just like Trump.
Maybe that is why he figured Trump out so easily. Theyre exactly alike!

(5,945 posts)2. I remember when many on DU wanted him to run for president.
Good reminder that just because you like what someone says doesn't mean they should hold office.

Some people love celebrities, and really that's what it's all about.

(51,308 posts)8. Not surprised.
I remember that time very well.
Many of us referred to him as tfg in a better suit and in better shape. People took umbrage!

(3,212 posts)3. I have little doubt it's a made-up story -
but being an executive for a large company NOW does not mean you didn't have a hot dog job as a teen.

(11,134 posts)4. If I read correctly it was another member of the legal team's dad
But that person was sacked so AvenTti just pretended it was his dad.

Good morning from New York.
Michael Avenatti is about to be sentenced for defrauding Stormy Daniels, by a judge who denied his request to wear a suit today.
I'll be covering it live.
Background on that suit ruling, via @MarisaRSarnoff, @LawCrimeNews.
