Is there a constitutional right to body armor?

Is that also in the scared second amendment?

Why are civilians allowed to own it?

What purpose does it serve except for mass murderers?

Ban that shit today.

1. Is there a specific reason you're concerned about body armor?

Was the shooting wearing body armor or something? I don’t see a reason to prevent people from having it. It’s purely defensive, unless I suppose if you swing it over your head and bludgeon people with it.

4. They did stop him in this case

He’s dead, so body armor didn’t save him. This isn’t an “ugh only in the US would this be allowed!” Sort of issue. I’m not versed on everywhere but in the UK there’s no restrictions on body armor. In Canada, some provinces permit ownership of it, some don’t except with a license. In the US some states, including a couple red states IIRC, have minor restrictions on body armor. I just don’t see the justification for banning as it’s rather a trivial aside IMHO to the wider issue.

6. Canada and the UK have gun laws.

Here body armor only serves people intending mass murder.

5. Enough Said. Here's your "Specific Reason."

When an 18-year-old man stepped into a Buffalo grocery store last Saturday with an AR-15-style rifle, the store's security guard tried to stop the shooting by firing his own weapon back at the shooter.

But the security guard's fire was stopped by the shooter's body armor, authorities say. Then, the shooter shot and killed the guard, Aaron Salter.

Child killer Salvador Ramos was involved in a shootout with authorities before he entered the school to begin his massacre, but they were unable to stop his rampage, an official revealed.

Despite coming under fire by officers as he approached Robb Elementary School, Ramos—who was wearing body armor—managed to continue on his path into the building, where he killed 19 children and two adults on Tuesday morning.

The 18-year-old was armed with a handgun, an AR-15 semi-automatic rifle, and high-capacity magazines, investigators said after the attack in Uvalde, Texas.
