Egad, A Dinesh D'Souza Movie LIED? Fetch Forth My Smelling Salts!

https://www.wonkette.com/egad-a-dinesh-d-souza-movie-lied-fetch-forth-my-smelling-salts

Poor Dinesh D'Souza can't seem to get a break, apart from his pardon from Donald Trump, his constant appearances in rightwing media, and all the money he gets from adoring low-information fans. His latest documentary-shaped object, 2000 Mules, alleges there's evidence off rampant voting fraud in the 2020 election. But it's being ignored by Tucker Carlson and even Newsmax, and there's practically nothing too stupid or crazy for Newsmax.

And now some snotty liberal fact checkers at NPR have confirmed that one of its central claims is just plain false. In the film, the bogus "election integrity" group True the Vote claims it used cellphone tracking data to prove massive voter fraud; to show just how reliable its methods are, the group claimed its data analysis even helped solve a MURDER that had police baffled.

But as NPR explains, hahaha LOL LMAO True the Vote didn't solve dick. (Slight paraphrase of NPR.) Also, have we mentioned D'Souza was himself convicted of election fraud? But he was pardoned, so now he's blameless.

The claim was so impressive that Donald Trump spokesperson Liz Harrington gushed that True the Vote

"solved a murder of a young little girl in Atlanta. I mean, they are heroes." Fans of the film have echoed that message on social media.

Unfortunately, that's a load of codswallop:

Authorities in Georgia arrested and secured indictments against two suspects in the murder of Secoriea Turner in August 2021.

In response to NPR's inquiries, True The Vote acknowledged it had contacted law enforcement more than two months later, meaning it played no role in those arrests or indictments.

That's not just NPR proving the claim is false; that's True the Vote admitting it didn't solve, as we say, dick.

The very foundations of their philosophy is built on bullshit. They think they can create their own reality, and they actually have to because the shared reality alway reveals that their ideas are stupid and harmful to all but the greediest people in the world.

Basically a bunch of atheists critiquing religious films. They did one of Dinesh's past "films" - "Death of a Nation" - or as one of the hosts called it, "Thanks for my pardon, President Trump." It's a pretty thorough breakdown done with humor. I look forward to their setting their sights on "Mules."

Juanita Jean has had to deal with the tea party idiot who founded this group https://juanitajean.com/true-the-vote/

This will not be the first time, or even the third or eighth time, you have read about Cathy Engelbrecht here at the beauty salon. She’s been on our radar for ten years when she was speaking in church basements and VFW halls in the Houston area, pushing the idea that it’s too damn easy to vote. She would get the attendees name and addresses, mostly very old people, and send them requests for money. She didn’t like my questions and quickly named me “that woman” and told people I was a reporter as she rolled her eyes.

She had difficulty giving me any examples of the horror of illegal voting that she claimed was killing America. I could give her a couple of examples that happened right in her neighborhood, but they were both Republicans. She quickly informed me that she wasn’t talking about just two people, she was talking about hundreds, thousands. She just didn’t know any of them.

And then the third example hit. The Republican man she was personally supporting for county commissioner voted in two states for three elections and I had his signature to prove it. I wrote about it in the newspaper and he was defeated soundly.

I once described her as an attractive woman with a dollar sign on her forehead. She always had her hand out. She was far more concerned with raising money than illegal voting.

And now the Washington Post says she’s being sued for taking $2 million from a donor and producing the same thing I saw her produce – diddle squat.
