General Discussion
Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region ForumsDear Mr. President. It is said that you have difficulties saying the word abortion
This is very honorable of you. With your background it is easy to understand your difficulty, yet you are not going to force your beliefs on the rest of us.
So here is a suggestion, practice it and use it as a mantra: "This is between a woman and her doctor," or "between a woman and her god," or "between a woman and her conscience."
That's all. No further discussion. If someone pushes you, and it is very possible to be a strong supporter of abortion, don't be intimidates. Don't seek alternatives, just stick to the above suggestions.
Almost the way Chicago mayor Richard Daly used to reply, to any question or comment: I love Chicago.
Dear Mr. President, you know that we love you and trust you.

It is the pukes who cannot accept.

(15,325 posts)Biden has a complicated history with abortion, CNN's Kevin Liptak reported earlier Tuesday, going from a moderate position as a senator to more fully embracing the Democratic Party position when he ran for president. He has yet to say the word "abortion" during his presidency, a review of his public comments found.

(17,006 posts)I dont even care if he is personally against abortion. I care that his agenda supports a womans right to choose. That is the whole point. That each and every woman gets to make the choice that is best for her. It isnt about forcing someone to change their personal opinion or view about abortion.
Its like alcohol. Some people believe its immoral to consume alcohol. They dont get to impose their personal belief on anyone else.

(47,486 posts)Worse, it may affect the midterms if many will doubt Biden's commitment

(17,006 posts)thrown at them. Biden cant do anything about abortion other than sign legislation passed by congress. The fight is for the house and the senate.

(68,586 posts)some half-baked notion that Biden won't say the word 'abortion'...OK then. I suggest you get better sources as these are just the usual suspects attacking Biden...they are probably Green or some BS leftist third party.

(68,586 posts)"Bidens use of the phrase abort a childas well as his near-exclusive preference for language about womens health or reproductive choice or making Roe the law of the landreflects career-long discomfort discussing abortion, one longtime adviser told The Daily Beast." I suppose Biden should call these folks and run every word he says by them...
