It is because people like Briahna Joy Gray, fooled enough people, why Trump was elected

When the DSA effectively blames the US for the Russian invasion of Ukraine, there is something very wrong with their thinking:

"After condemning Russia’s invasion and urging diplomacy, de-escalation, and an immediate cease-fire, the statement’s authors added that the DSA “reaffirms our call for the US to withdraw from NATO and to end the imperialist expansionism that set the stage for this conflict.” Further remarks about American obligations toward refugees and preparing for a long-term response to this crisis followed, but so far as the majority of the reading public was concerned, the DSA might as well have said nothing else at all. Backlash followed swiftly."

Why Ro Khanna would do an interview with Gray is beyond me

1. The premise of "polite conversation" is why I can't answer to this woman's comment.

I can't think of a civil thing to say about her or her opinion. I don't know who she is, her GOT-reminiscent Twitter handle, aside.

At this point imagine had the US gone along with the DSA's hands-off demands.

Briahna JG was willing to give Russia the greenlight into another country, murder its people, blow up its civilian infrastructure, all in support of the DSA, who has no access to the Intel of our President or our allies

They spoke for Putin & the picture is made clear by every word BJG speaks.

I think it began innocently enough, with people who weee sincerely fed up with "reds under the bed" scares and American propaganda against "comm'nsm."

And, capitalism HAS failed us in so many ways. Many Americans rightly want more social safety nets, more of the "socialism" that makes all our lives better. The U.S. has much to answer for - we are far from perfect.

After the fall of the USSR, Russian organized crime went right to work, and it looks like some of that strategy was to find and influence gullible lefties in the U.S. Good hearted people have been fooled. Putin doesn't represent socialism - he represents uncontrolled cruelty and sociopathic authoritarianism.

is how they can be called leftist when so many of their goals, actions, and much of their rhetoric echos the right.

The "shock therapy" advice from Western consultants to rapidly privatize state-owned industries pretty much guaranteed that all that value would quickly concentrate into a few hand with little or no payoff to the general populace, which is what did happen.

Another point is that Russia was the only deep-pocket source willing to fund Americans critical of the government from the left side. There's no liberal-left counterpart to the Right's outrage industrial complex, so a foreign outfit could make headway by providing an outlet. Especially during the Bush administration, when there was a great deal to criticize. Russian-owned outlets had no interest in moderating things when Bush was out and Obama came in.

for them to take power. They can't get enough people elected to need all ten fingers to count, even when forced to have candidates run as Democrats.

But they imagine that in a time of chaos and desperation they could take over a nation that has always completely and sensibly rejected them.

And they believe they should.
