I love this section from the motion filed by Jones' counsel

https://civilinquiry.jud.ct.gov/DocumentInquiry/DocumentInquiry.aspx?DocumentNo=22425577

At approximately 3:30 p.m. this afternoon, the undersigned received a telephone call
alerting him that Mr. Jones was under the care of a physician for medical conditions that require
immediate, and possibly, emergency testing. I spoke with a person representing himself to be a
physician: he told me he was a licensed physician, had the qualifications to render an opinion
about Mr. Jones’ health, and that his opinion was that Mr. Jones should not sit for depositions this
week. I asked for a second letter from the physician.

My client has not asked me to disclose the nature of the medical conditions or the identity
of the physician. It is my hope that upon receipt of the physician’s letter, I can share it with the
Court on an ex parte basis.

I love the fact that the public need not know the disease that Jones is claiming to have

they mentioned that he was absent from the first 45 minutes of his normal show time on the day in question, which was covered by the doofus who does the show before his own, and the reason given was that he was meeting with his lawyers.

So I'm sure this mystery medical condition is totes legit...

On the other hand, he also sowed some seeds to support this notion -- he said something about getting a cold or such from his recent trip to CA. Which sort of blows a hole in the bullshit supplement/vitamin/immune-booster crap which he sells and says he takes himself because it is so awesome and effective, but whatever...

The only issue left is damages and Jones is still not giving discovery so that you can figure out what the damages should be

18. Alex Jones asks to delay Sandy Hook lawsuit due to 'emergency' from unnamed 'medical conditions'

Alex Jones has already been found to be liable in both the Texas and Conn. cases. Jones is trying to hide the facts about his net worth and the amount of damages that should be assessed against him

After losing the lawsuit, Jones was expected to attend a deposition during the process of determining damages.

But on Monday, attorneys for Jones insisted that he was too sick to be deposed.

“At approximately 3:30 p.m. this afternoon, the undersigned received a telephone call alerting him that Mr. Jones was under the care of a physician for medical conditions that require immediate, and possibly, emergency testing. I spoke with a person representing himself to be a physician: he told me he was a licensed physician, had the qualifications to render an opinion about Mr. Jones’ health, and that his opinion was that Mr. Jones should not sit for depositions this week,” Jones attorney Norm Pattis wrote in a court filing.

The attorney did not specify Jones's illness but asked for “a reasonable period of time consistent with his medical condition.”

Jones appeared healthy when he hosted a special edition of his Alex Jones Show broadcast on Sunday.

19. 'Too sick' to be deposed Alex Jones wasn't 'too sick' to record his InfoWars show Timothy Evans
Wed Mar 23, 2022, 10:11 AM
Mar 2022

Alex Jones has refused to comply with the court's rulings in two different cases and there are two default judgements pending against him. Jones is still refusing to comply with discovery requests solely related to damages. I suspect that the court is going to jump on Jones for these blatant refusals to comply with discovery

Lawyers for the victims’ families suing Jones aren't buying his claim that he’s now too sick to sit for the deposition. They pointed out in their court filing response that Jones managed to host his InfoWars show for four hours while he was supposedly receiving emergency care from a doctor. Jones’ mystery illness, they wrote, is an “obvious gambit” meant to prevent Jones from answering questions under oath.

A lawyer for Jones provided the court with a doctor’s note claiming Jones was recovering from his malady at home. But on Tuesday, the judge in charge of the case expressed skepticism and raised the possibility that Jones’ lawyer “unknowingly misled” the court. The judge demanded to know whether Jones recorded the Monday InfoWars broadcast from his studio or his home.

On this week’s episode of The Daily Beast’s Fever Dreams podcast, hosts Asawin Suebsaeng and Will Sommer discussed the InfoWars boss’s sudden new illness.

“This is the kind of surprise tactic that he might use to avoid the deposition,” Sommer said.“If you’re going to fake an illness, you can’t go on your show afterwards, you’ve got to at least disappear or something like that,” Sommer said on the podcast.

I listened to a hearing in the Texas case (Juanita Jean's son is the lead attorney in that case) and the court told Jones' new attorney to show up at the next deposition prepared to answer questions. At the nest depo, the witness was not prepared and did not answer the questions that judge listed to be answered. Mark Bankston has already been awarded over $450,000 in penalties due to Jones' refusal to provide required discovery.

I suspect that the courts are not going to buy this fake illiness and Jones is going to found in contempt again.

21. Plaintiffs Seek Capias Order for Alex Jones to Be Arrested If He Fails to Appear for Deposition
Thu Mar 24, 2022, 02:24 AM
Mar 2022

The judge and the plaintiffs are tired of Alex Jones' games

Attorneys for the plaintiffs in a defamation lawsuit against alt-right commentator Alex E. Jones requested a capias order for him to be arrested following his failure to appear for a deposition on Wednesday.

Christopher M. Mattei, of Koskoff Koskoff & Beider, asked Superior Court Judge Barbara N. Bellis to order Jones to attend his deposition at 9 a.m. Thursday (CDT) in Austin, Texas.

“We are going to exhaust every option we have to secure his testimony,” Mattei said.

Late Wednesday afternoon, Bellis ordered Jones to appear for his “duly noticed deposition, as he has not submitted additional evidence for the court to evaluate on the issue of his alleged medical conditions.”

She declined to issue a capias “at this time,” but noted that if he fails to appear again, he will be “in direct contempt of the court’s orders.”

During an emergency status conference Wednesday, Bellis indicated that she would order Jones to appear unless the defendant provided credible evidence that it was too dangerous for him to do so.
