An American who owns a MiG-29 isn't sure the fighter jets would help Ukraine much

“On a purely technical level, I don’t know how the good could outweigh the bad of bringing in those MiG-29s,” Isaacman said. “Are people thinking through the implications?”

He said the Russians could eliminate the jets from the battlefield "in a single shot."

"What a momentum swing that would be for Russia," he added. "What a morale boost it would be for them. And it’s been so publicized by now that the Russians could just be waiting for the moment those jets come across the border."

This dude owns the ONLY air-worthy one in the US. 4 more are owned by a company that simulates training missions and none of those are air-worthy.

With no weapons, its just a really fast Cessna

The jet is one of 29 Vipers that will be used to train the US Air Force.

You can even own a tank with an operational main gun, but getting ammo for the gun is a real hassle, you have to pass a very detailed background check to acquire the rounds and you better be prepared to shell out some serious money to pay for them.

What Ukraine really needs is weapons to attack artillery postions and shoot down missiles and drones.

If the goal is to freeze the enemy's lines. And stop.

At some point you need to be able to soften behind the lines, stop resupply 40 miles away, and be able to push them back.

Otherwise we have the DNR and the LNR in the east, the ZNR and the KhNR in the south ...

It may only be a couple more inches of the salami, but eventually you run out of salami and you have the Lviv People's Republic, recognized only by Russia, up against Poland.
