A few facts about Kyiv
it sits on high bluffs above the river Dnipr. Any attack would be uphill
it has the deepest subway system of any major city in the world. The tunnels near the city center are 150-300 feet deep. The defenders can use them as living quarters, shelter and to move from one fighting position to another. Russian artillery can't touch them down there. OTOH it also may tempt Putin to use WMD's to dig them out.

1. I don't believe they'll assault Kiev. (Kyiv)
They'll surround it, cut it off and use it as a negotiation piece.

4. +1, ... and from a mile away carried by one soldier on lunch break. Can you imagine wanting to be
... in one of those these days ?!
Burnt up with fire heat from hell inside a steel box, ... f that !! Tanks ... MIGHT ... be good in the open but not against laser guided artillery ... damn, they might be a thing of the past. A ... LOT ... of countries can afford mobile artillery, AA/ATGM and some SA shoulder mounted missiles to keep bombings up high. |
