To the point that I emailed both the ASPCA and The Humane Society. And I heard back from The Humane Society who said they planned to go in as soon as it was safe enough. I sure hope that they can get in this time ASAP...

7. I am the animal person. 100% that's me... but the lead pic in the NYT's today...

Completely broke me into a million pieces. It's going to stick with me forever. It's filed away with several other heinous atrocities I can never unsee. The photographer will win an award for her photo, but she'll be like me and will forever see it when she closes her eyes. Except on an even higher level. I freaking hate war and senseless death.

I chose not to share it here, but it literally destroyed my heart today.

I'm deeply empathetic and this whole nightmare weighs heavily on me on so very many, many levels.
