There are times when the reading of a newswire report generates storms originated by a biased or predisposed approach.
On Oct. 22, 2012, at 11:10 a.m. ET, the Bloomberg News report Fiat Says Jeep® Output May Return to China as Demand Rises stated Chrysler currently builds all Jeep SUV models at plants in Michigan, Illinois and Ohio. Manley (President and CEO of the Jeep brand) referred to adding Jeep production sites rather than shifting output from North America to China.
Despite clear and accurate reporting, the take has given birth to a number of stories making readers believe that Chrysler plans to shift all Jeep production to China from North America, and therefore idle assembly lines and U.S. workforce. It is a leap that would be difficult even for professional circus acrobats.
Lets set the record straight: Jeep has no intention of shifting production of its Jeep models out of North America to China. Its simply reviewing the opportunities to return Jeep output to China for the worlds largest auto market. U.S. Jeep assembly lines will continue to stay in operation. A careful and unbiased reading of the Bloomberg take would have saved unnecessary fantasies and extravagant comments.

(22,675 posts)If he apologized for all of his missteps and lies, the election would have come and gone and he'd still be apologizing.

(14,923 posts)This is all to do with putting the bug in people's head and forcing him to revert to defense. The anger generated by this lie should demand an apology to all the people and we know he won't do such.....so HIS NON-APOLOGY position will definitely NOT sit well with the Chrysler Workers he tried scaring for political gain....
This all about putting him on defense and making him pay for sticking his foot in his mouth!!

(14,923 posts)They should be hammering Romney on this lie HARD showing the unethical level their campaign was willing to sink to just for political gain regardless of the worries he instilled to those Chrysler workers.

The Detroit News, a self-described conservative paper that endorsed Sen. John McCain in 2008, endorsed Mitt Romney Thursday, arguing that his 5-point economic plan could jumpstart the economy and saying President Obama has fallen short.
