(2,143 posts)I'm so impressed you knew all Carlson's names. You know stuff! I liked the cartoon before, and I'm enjoying it even more now, knowing this little hidden-in-plain-sight gem. Thanks for pointing it out.

(6,831 posts)Sometimes, in the still night, along the silent Tigris, as the moon washes the desert, you can see the ghosts of Iraq shimmering, like a city on the hill.

(16,399 posts)I didn't get the first one at first. Couldn't figure out what Putin is supposed to be doing or what the big red thing in front of him is and was baffled as to how that panel relates to the people standing in line at the atm.
The I noticed the guy pushing buttons at the atm and how his hand was in the same position as Putin's. And it dawned on me that the red thing is another kind of button, one that NOBODY want Putin to push. Yikes.
So I get it now, but geez, that thing does NOT look like a button!

I shall pass through this world but once. Any good, therefore, that I can do or any kindness I can show to any human being, let me do it now. Let me not defer or neglect it, for I shall not pass this way again. I expect to pass through this world but once. Stephan Grellet
I can't honestly say where I first saw it, but it's the way I have tried to live.

(17,241 posts)It wasn't there at 11:05 when I posted, Copied a small one I seen this morning and it didn't work, with another
DUer's help (who was using it), found out to copy address of the full size one from today's toons and our DU
software automatically resizes it. So I learned something today. Pretty neat trick you posting my #21 into your reply.
That something easy to do also, or is it a trade secret?

(37,160 posts)When there are images I can't directly link to, I use a screen-snip tool that's free with Windows to save the image to my desktop and then upload it to an Imgur account I have for being able to post such images to DU.
So I pressed "control -" to shrink the size of the website (DU) on my browser (because there was no need to copy it full size), took a snip of that, and uploaded it to my Imgur account so that I could post it here.
It's the sort of thing that can sound complicated if you've never done it before, but once you've done it once or twice is really, really simple.
