Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region ForumsIs any western state, including US talking about stopping immigration of Russians and banning
Russians from entering their country? Have we talked about inviting Russians in the US to go back where they came from?
Have any states and localities taken a hard look at the Russian enclaves that have sprung up within their borders in the past 30 years?

(19,583 posts)As being Iranian. I hate to see thoughts like this one expressed. My next door neighbors as a child escaped Afghanistan, on foot, and immigrated here in the 80's. They were the subjects of threats after 911. They'd lived here since I was a child and escaped while Russia was occupying their former home decades before.
This type of thinking has never makes sense to me.

(6,161 posts)Russians who immigrated to the west did so not out of love for Russia or Putin, its the opposite. Many have jewish heritage by the way. By far, the most stupid idea Ive heard on DU today. I bet putin would love for all russians around the world to be sent back.

(45,480 posts)They said to seize all Russian property, as in all of it, not just that of oligarch Putin-backers) and that the US should deport any pregnant Russian woman back to Russia.

(3,459 posts)That's just wrong. Most Russians who came the the US were escaping the tryanny of Putin and his predecessors. My own grandparents escaped Czarist Russia (Belarus) in 1903.
They are among the hardest working citizens amongst us. My financial advisor is a young woman who escaped Kyiv as a child.

(7,065 posts)Not a brilliant idea to start WWIII when your population is shrinking. The educated ones will flee to the West. More and more of a brain drain.
