7. I like your Carlin quote. Lincoln DID free the slaves, and intended a different

reconstruction than actually happened.

Problem is, he also opened the west in a very big way, causing the oppression, genocide and displacement of native Americans.

I used to think Lincoln was the greatest president, you know? Washington too, because he had the conviction to step down and not become 'president for life' as he was offered. He believed in this republic.

And FDR...he didn't have all that good a record on segregation, and when he died and Truman took over, Truman didn't know anything because FDR hadn't briefed him. He had to come in cold.

It's like when I was a kid and loved Gunsmoke, the Rifleman, Davy Crockett, and the Lone Ranger. They were SUCH heros...until they weren't.

We have to confront it. The kluxers don't want to talk about no 'critical race theory.' They think they can simply bury the truth by yelling louder than the people around them. But it is too late for that. We absolutely must get rid of the racism, the 'white christian' hate. They hate everybody but old white guys.

I mean look at that woman Lorie Smith. She actually went to the trouble to file a lawsuit that would allow her not to serve gay people in her business, because of her 'christian' beliefs. Hmm. She must be nursing a mighty 'christian' hate in her heart to go to all that effort. I mean, without that hate, why would you bother to even do that?

Now they are talking about making birth control illegal for married couples, let alone single people. And of course, the 'church fathers' really, really want to make abortion illegal again...

If we aren't careful, we will end up back in the 1920s instead of the 2020s.

Sorry for the rant....sigh.

13. I know two quotes about arguing with conservatives:

1: Arguing with a conservative is like talking to a howler monkey. All they will do is scream and throw poo until you get tired of it and walk away.

2: Arguing with a conservative like playing chess with a pigeon. All they will do is ignore you, knock over your pieces, then strut around like they did something worthwhile.

But you can always go back to the two pig sayings:

A: Arguing with a conservative is like putting lipstick on a pig. It accomplishes nothing and you will still have a pig.
B: Arguing with a conservative like wrestling a pig. You accomplish nothing and the pig likes it.
