I have been reading about Ireland in preparation for watching "Belfast." I like to check out the history and culture of films about other countries culture and history before viewing the relevant films.
I highly recommend "Rebellion." The acting is awesome. It was out in 2016 but I had never seen it or heard about it.
GO BENGALS!!!

(4,298 posts)I have spent a lot of time during the pandemic being homebound watching flicks I probably never would have watched before. There have been a few series that were great.
Right now I am watching Netflix: "Occupied" I am only into the second Episode and it is blowing my mind. You can almost replace Norway with Ukraine and write a current new article. But it is really scary that this series makes losing our democracy seem even more possible. Warning: the series is captioned in English as the language if Norwiegian with some German. But after the first 5 minutes I became so intensely involved I thought I was speaking a foreign language. It's time for all of us to take off some blinders and really think seriously about what is going on around us.
OK I might be an alarmist but life may imitate art at times but art most always imitates life.

Life May imitate art at times but most always imitates life
I am truly alarmed at what is going on in the US, Canada, and Ukraine right now.
