(12,480 posts)2. Reminds me
Of the narcissistic guy called Mr. Toomy from the Langoliers by Stephen King..an arrogant ass business man compulsively ripping up paper...
The good part is Toomy loses his feet..and is stuck in the past..
Kinda like tfg.
I liked the movie check it out.

(3,233 posts)7. Ha, I remember that one! It was in "Four Past Midnight."
The Langoliers is prime King, I've read it so many times. And yeah, ol' Craig Toomey wound up getting devoured by said langoliers. He had it coming to him, though.
The other good short story in that collection was The Sun Dog. It was a nice prelude to Needful Things.

Half a day. Couldn't put it down.
Sun dog was great too.
The whole book is good.
I think 4 past midnight is an underappreciated book among king fans.
Imho

(3,233 posts)12. Agree 100%, "Four Past Midnight" is good stuff.
Full Dark, No Stars was also quite good. Though my all-time favorite King novels are The Stand and the Dark Tower series. It took him 30-odd years to write the latter, but it was absolutely worth the wait.

I remember that photo so well, and how it was so creatively and exhaustively memed! 😁
I love her sense of humor SOOOO much. I'd buy one of these, except that I already have more mugs than I know what to do with.
