(52,489 posts)They believe in dividing people up, making statements about perceived differences rather than commonalities, and assigning privilege to one group while imposing hurdles and restrictions on others.

(210 posts)I came across a similar formulation years ago concerning liberals and conservatives. I don't recall by whom, but I've always felt it apt. It was said that liberals endeavor to promote the good in and for people, whereas conservatives are concerned to limit the bad. Consider how the two groups deal with education, for example, and crime (or national security).
