General Discussion
Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region ForumsI received an important questionnaire from my representative today.
She is asking for input on what I feel is the most important issue facing America today. I couldn't pass up the opportunity to check the "Other" box and write "Removing you from office for your traitorous act of trying to overturn a valid election."
She's been in office all of one year and her first act in Congress was to vote not to certify the election of Joe Biden. Beyond that she's done absolutely nothing.
Hope she likes my input.

(15,580 posts)The rep for my heavily gerrymandered district is Lisa McClain. Calls herself ultra-Catholic and is anti-choice of course. She's the sort of woman who will do exactly what the GOP men tell her to do. She's got zero government experience.
Apparently she is not the only GOP person who is contacting constituents for their input. They must all be worried about all the coverage of the GOP insurrection.

(15,580 posts)I doubt I'll hear back from her. I'm just hoping our local Dem party people make sure to use that vote against her and that they run a viable candidate to take her on.

(11,586 posts)The worst problem the Dems have, IMO, is the narrative(s) that the media push. Hapless. Weak. Unable to accomplish anything. Economy falling apart.
All complete hogwash, but that's the prevailing Noise.

(1,828 posts)Had a robo call from her this week.
I can't stand her.
She invited to us at the end of a call, if we need help in any area to press a number and her staff would get back to us.
The next day I got a call from the NRC asking for money.
I have not heard from Stefanik's office.
Good thing it was not a pressing problem.

(62,508 posts)Mariannette Miller-Meeks (won by 6 votes). She is also pretty much useless to the district.
She is a freshman - wonder if it was geared for freshman districts?

Why is why I say, go, Clyde! Run up those fines.
Kick in to the DU tip jar?
This week we're running a special pop-up mini fund drive. From Monday through Friday we're going ad-free for all registered members, and we're asking you to kick in to the DU tip jar to support the site and keep us financially healthy.
As a bonus, making a contribution will allow you to leave kudos for another DU member, and at the end of the week we'll recognize the DUers who you think make this community great.
