More than anyone else, he knows what the plan was for January 6th. Regardless of what he may have supported, or went along with, before January 6th, and no matter if he did not make it public, when the moment came for him to betray his country, he refused. Under immense pressure from several quarters, he followed the Constitution.
The country needs him to tell what he knows. He owes it to the people of this country. History will look much more favorably toward him if he chooses to be a "patriot" moreso than if he were lucky enough to ever be elected President of the United States. (The disgraced, defeated, former president has said that Pence is "mortally wounded" from ever running for president. Was that a passing comment or was that a threat to Mike Pence?)
Does Mike Pence have the courage to stand up to his Party and the insurrectionists that hate him with a passion? Would he have to go into witness protection if he told the truth? It is the biggest decision he will ever make in his life.

(2,580 posts)to just enough to damage Trump's '24 bid but not enough to explain his 5 YEARS of ass licking. Good luck with that balancing act. Most likely he'll issue a statement but I doubt he'll testify under oath.

Seriously, it would be very helpful if he testified, but I'm not holding my breath.

(7,663 posts)Pence might well be agreeing to testify to the committee as well. He is a religious fundamentalist right winger, but he is so straight jacketed that rule of law matters to him. We are lucky he did not go along what Trump wanted him to do on January 6.
