(3,290 posts)I think being in a firefight on the battlefield a whole new mental perspective may overide some moral doubts one might have.

(12,378 posts)involved in several firefights and to this day, I don't know, nor do I want to know, if I ever killed or wounded anyone.
The majority of people don't want to shoot anyone unless absolutely forced to, and that applied to me and most Military personnel.

(33,345 posts)Although I believe the Pandemic Restrictions have increased the general level of anger and frustration as normal social releases have disappeared. Anger has gotten mightily pent-up, and men have to shoot something.
If you take the drop in shootings that occurred in 2020 and added the increase in 2021, it probably matches 2019. That's a guess, though.
