How many people here have had a troll respond with...

…”Adoption not Abortion!!!”?

We have a Supreme Court justice making the exact same argument a troll would make. Her personal choice of adoption should not have any relevance to the judicial question at hand.

This was a very long game set up with her. “She can’t be racist, because she adopted a minority.” “She can’t be criticized for her religion cause other justices are Catholic.” and finally, “see, she walks the walk and adopted, so all women, young girls and rape victims should bring to term and give them over to adoption services.”

New recruits. Catholic Charities has a huge adoption industry and has discriminatory practices built in.
People are fleeing the Church by the thousands now. Have to make those Christian Soldiers somehow.
What better way than have a young person to completely indoctrinate.

Many more women die from childbirth than from an abortion. Death from an abortion is very rare, yet maternal mortality in some states is akin to the same statistics of a third world country. But the “pro-lifers” don’t get it.

“Adoption, not abortion” is a simplistic, shallow, slogan. One size does not fit all. The very idea that male politicians can force a woman to go through with this trauma is sickening.

After I heard her say that, I wondered why the senators participating in her confirmation hearing didn't insist on questioning her husband - given that he would be making her SCOTUS decisions for her.

The grabbing comment was blatant and at a certain point you just realize the person is so terrible it isn’t worth it. The other was some insidious shit.

Running Sarah Palin as an answer to Hillary Clinton is like eating at a fine dining establishment, lifting a buttcheek, ripping a huge stinkier and then calmly going back to feeding yourself while everyone else is in the process of expelling their meals.

They love to rail on about the Chinese Communist Party, but the situation in China is exactly what they want for us. The Chinese have hundreds of millions of people, most of whom are working for dirt wages. And, that's not including the hundreds of thousands they round up on trumped-up charges, and turn them into the prison labor that makes a lot of the cheap shit they send here for us to purchase. Meanwhile, the guys at the top are filthy rich. It's a similar situation in Russia, too, where the average annual income is something like $4000. Meanwhile, Putin and his cronies are billionaires. It's no wonder so many GOPers are in bed with him.

Depending on who you ask an embryo doesn't become a fetus until at least 8 weeks. And they want to place a 6 week limit. Those are all embryos. Embryos to which they want to grant more rights than the fully grown person whose uterus it's in.

"Conservatives have convinced the courts that a fetus has more rights than its mother."

Conservative men do not view women as equal. They're job is to procreate and hate sex. Just so long as their Fetus may turn out to be another white male.

The GOP has known since the 70s that demographic trends do not favor while, male, and conservative. The GOP does not care one whit about women, or their babies. But by god, they're not going to let those fuzzy little foreign brown people out breed the good ol'boys. If it were just Black and Latino women having abortions, the GOP would set clinics up in every strip mall.

The Gross Old Pervs, with their little blue pills, want to be sure more white babies are born. Look at the nonsense of the Quiverfull movement. Uneducated women pumping out another baby every 16 months so someone like Josh Duggar can diddle them. There's your family values.

Viagra ads are fine, bent carrot ads are fine, but god forbid we allow young women to see an ad about contraceptives or tampax. Who do these old renewed boner boyz think they're going to f***?

Women will not go backwards. No sir.

Long lasting psychological trauma on the mother and the child from separation at birth.

Social engineering by any other name.

When there are no more American born children, of color, with disabilities, with special needs, older than diaper and pull-up age waiting in foster care to be adopted, then, maybe, we can talk about adoption. Overturn Roe, and we're right back to the Baby Scoop era of the 50s and 60s.

Infants are not commodities to be bought an sold. Nopety, nope, nope.

If you are really serious about considering adoption as an alternative to abortion, then the legal system needs to shove a whole lot of its profiteered cash windfalls to help cover the costs, or lower their fees. It's a money maker. Having been through the process with an agency that was owned and operated by a religious denomination, and eventually being told it would cost around $30,000, we decided to wait in line with the state agency, which took two years and cost $13,000 mostly in legal fees.

So I'm not surprised she has zero understanding of what regular people have to go through.
