Trump's Senate Picks Stumble Out of the Gate

Trump’s Senate Picks Stumble Out of the Gate

"SNIP......

“Donald Trump’s favorite in the Alabama Senate race is treading water. His pick in Pennsylvania just bowed out of the GOP primary after losing custody of his children. In Alaska and North Carolina, two other Trump-endorsed Senate candidates are behind in primary election polls,” Politico reports.

“Trump may still have an iron grip on the Republican Party, but the limits of his powers are being exposed in 2022 Senate primaries. A number of his preferred Senate candidates are discovering that the former president’s endorsement is no guarantee of success in a crowded primary, leaving Trump to decide just how much political capital to further expend on their behalf.”

In the reddest of red areas. But this idea of hand-picking only people who were 'nice' to him will fail. I am somewhat satisfied that he is in control of the party now. He's fucked up everything he has ever touched. It would serve the stupid party right for worshipping him.

That's obviously the only thing that has ever mattered to him, ever, both in politics and in every other aspect of his life. It's a lousy way to pick political candidates, but I don't believe he's capable of operating any other way. His narcissism is and always will be in the driver's seat, and that's already starting to backfire on him, this as this article shows.

What threat is that bag of crap on his own? None. They fear the Trumptrash base.

That is exactly right. That violent mob is the only power he has at this point.

The GOP literally created a monster when they made that orange thing their presidential candidate. They're all sick of him now (except for crazies like MTG, Cawthorne, and Bang Bang Boebert), but they're stuck with him as long as he has a big enough base of rabid supporters. It serves them right, but it really sucks for the country as a whole.

TFG getting booed at his own rally when he was talking about getting vaccinated was telling.

to remain relevant, TFG has to keep throwing meat to the beast lest it turn on him.

It means the Republicans could nominate more seemingly “moderate” non-Trump candidates that could have more appeal to independent voters in toss-up races.

The McConnell candidate in Alabama is a more moderate woman candidate... Katie Britt

And in PA, Parnell was an asshat and Dr. Oz has a much better shot on name-value alone... the relationship with Oprah doesn't hurt.

At the 216,000 death stage... the CDC released data showing:

51.3% White

24.2% Hispanic or Latino

18.7% Non-Hispanic Black

Racial and ethnic disparities among COVID-19 decedents have persisted over the course of the pandemic and continue to increase among Hispanic persons. These results can inform public health messaging and mitigation efforts focused on prevention and early detection of infection among disproportionately affected groups so as to minimize subsequent mortality.

https://www.cdc.gov/mmwr/volumes/69/wr/mm6942e1.htm

I wouldn't automatically assume that the majority of deaths are GOP voters

that make up the republican base. Black and Hispanic demographic groups also tend to have higher rates of conditions that cause complications with COVID such as obesity, diabetes, and heart disease. Don't let the statistics interrupt your grave dancing fantasy that only republican or trump voters are dying from COVID though, seems to be a popular political theory lately anyway.
