(10,281 posts)I had a sister who lived there years ago and I visited a few times. Seemed like a nice place in the 70s and 80s. I think a lot of the Blues Brothers was filmed there. (Not the nazis, they were supposed to be from Illinois or Indiana I think)

(46,369 posts)I live in Sheboygan, where it's fairly quiet, a few things have gone awry at times, including a murder recently down at the Bus Depot, that was the result of a Milwaukee thug getting into a fight.
The "People's Republic Of Madison" isn't so quiet, as is Milwaukee.
Not to mention Green Bay.
McCarthy has been dead since 1958.
The John Birch Society might as well not even exist, outside of that stupid magazine they crank out, they are for all intensive purposes irrelevant.

State elections ruined by gerrymandering.
Kenosha is an awful place for Dems. As is Waukesha.

The rest was filmed in Illinois.

(2,834 posts)That's where the Milwaukee scene begins. When the Bluesmobile drives backward from the edge of the road and flips the First Wisconsin building is the big give-a-way. The building is called something else now. The Pinto is dropped in Chicago. So not that much was filmed in Wisconsin.

(37,573 posts)Do you consider Kenosha and Waukesha to be small towns?
Kenosha - almost 100,000 people
Waukesha - 72,000 people
Small towns?? Really?
What do you know about Richland Center, Spring Green (both connected to Frank Lloyd Wright), Baraboo, Waunakee (the world's only), Dodgeville, Mazomanie, Sparta, Tomah, Hillsboro.
What about Waterloo (home of Trek bicycles)
or Millville (home of Clifford D. Simak)

Do small Wisco towns have more bars than churches or vice verse? Or is it a tie?
