Gratuitous Thank you Joe Biden thread

He retired. He spent his days teaching, playing with the dogs, hugging his grandkids. He was perfectly happy.

Then it got that kind of bad under the TFG. Something had to be done. Joe agreed to serve his country.... to leave the comfort of retirement and step back into the arena. I am retired and about his age. I can tell you I do not have the stamina to keep a full time job let alone one with such demands as he has. The sacrifice he is making is very real.

He built an admin with our best and brightest. He's gone out of his way to push everyone up. He isn't even reaching back ... he's behind them ... putting them out front ... building for the future. For individuals and for the country as a whole.... even for the planet.

It is tempting to want more ... now. America has been neglected for so long that the needs are so great. We have a moment in time and it is hard to live with only getting a small piece of what is really needed. It is tempting to want more ... to be disappointed.

Joe Biden's deepest joy is in seeing others succeed. It is in his DNA. You can see it in his family, his relationships. Hopping a train every morning and night for decades to go sleep at home.... he didn't go through that for him. You can see it every day in how he treats the people around him.

Everything he does is with the goal of pushing people up ... pushing America up ... roads, bridges, internet, electricity, medicine, education, housing ... people and our basic physical needs. I don't know how much he'll be able to do, but I have faith he'll push absolutely full on for as much as he can get for all of us.

Thank you Joe Biden. Thank you for being willing to sacrifice for America.... for me.

Guy's gone above and beyond. Not only has he just done his job, but he's thus far tried to exceed it (even if his party has fuckered and dithered with his agenda).

Good on him. Thanks, President Biden. You're a good egg.

that he stepped up at his age to lead the fight for the soul of our nation.

I hope over time he, and what we're doing during the Biden administration, comes to represent for America what liberalism in general really looks like. To cut through all the lies that keep people from understanding they really do have good choices.

His absolute dedication to public service really does shine through. He's the real thing. He really means it.

Ironically, the only other two candidates for the 2020 nomination that I considered to be anywhere near his character and pragmatism, Jay Inslee and Amy Klobuchar, got nowhere in the primaries.

In December 2019, a well-connected and very active Republican political strategist asked me who I thought the Democratic nominee would be. Why she thought MY humble opinion was worth the time of a top Republican strategist was beyond me, but she did ask. I said I thought it would be Joe Biden. He was polling maybe 4% at the time. She was REALLY surprised, and asked why I thought so, and if he was my first choice. I said no, he was not my first choice (Inslee had been, but had dropped out by then), but I thought that after all the grandstanding, sloganeering and publicity seeking of the others had died down, experience and competence would cancel out the age factor, and he would be the last man standing. And so he was. The right man at the right time, too, as it turned out.

Thank you so much for this lovely post..........President Biden has done a fantastic job in spite of all the negative people that were/are trying to make us think he is failing including the media (CNN and others) He is doing just exactly what I hoped he would do. He is giving his heart for this country he loves so much. We will all enjoy his successes if we just support him and his administration. DJT and his gang of buffoons are mean and hateful and could care less about our country.
