(maybe he doesn't appear to be because he isn't?) david gosar (an attorney--& crazy paul gosar's brother) was on thom hartmann's show today they began the conversation by talking about paul gosar. talk on merrick garland starts around 5:30. this theory was a bit of an "omg i never thought of that" moment for hartmann (and for me). the quotes are david gosar: "...and specifically the person on point here who needs to take strong action is merrick garland. and he's not doing it. and at this point in time i'm sort of suspecting that there's a back room deal with merrick; you know, as he sailed through his confirmation process, which was odd to me given that the position he was going to be in, given that the backdrop and the ? of his position, he sailed through it. and we're seeing that this guy is not taking action. and as an attorney who practiced in criminal law for 25 years at federal and state level, i can assure you that his excuses here are total bunk. he's gotta do his own review, and look at the law and investigate. some of these things are open and shut and he knows it. and i've seen the federal government move at lightening speed against poor people and the clients i represent and this is ridiculous. "my thought.. i'm beginning to suspect this, that merrick garland doesn't want to offend the republicans too much because if breyer's position becomes open or somebody else leaves the court -- there he is. snip "...he just sits there and does nothing. to me it appears to be like a deliberate stall ... " snip "my thought is that merrick was picked *because* he was going to behave in this manner, and so i don't see the pressure coming from biden. but that's what needs to happen."

He tells it like it really is. Have you actually read his stuff? The bottom line here is we have had decades of policies that have systematically transferred wealth from the many to the few, put profits over people, and we now have one party that is the party of oligarchy, treason, death, and stupidity. Hartmann has had this right all along.

As to Garland, I'm not sure I agree with this particular speculation. But he does seem like he isn't as...vigorous...as we'd hoped.

But I don’t think President Biden will choose a 68 year old for Supreme Court. Sorry just don’t. When President Obama chose him, he was 62. I think the time has passed for him to be on the court.
