but instead a WARNING. People need to wake up, pay attention and act accordingly.

We can all see what our elected officials, on "both sides", are doing. Sticking one's head in the sand or putting on rose-colored glasses is a foolish denial.

No one wants fascist rule. We aren't wanting to declare we're defeated. But it's not really up to us, it's up to our elected Democrats to fight for us. That's why we sent them. And at this time, it doesn't look like a couple of them will do what is needed to ensure a continued Democratic majority. I desperately wish that weren't the case.

The committee is referring this to DOJ. It's up to DOJ to decide what their response is going to be and convey that to the committee.

Of course, there are a lot of people here who seem to be convinced that THE DOJ will do nothing, the committee is just wasting its time, and even creating the committee was a waste of time, because ALL of the bad people will get away with ALL of the bad stuff, and nothing good is EVER going to happen. Also, Chicken Little called to say that the sky is falling.

Sorry for the very heavy sarcasm. All the extreme doom and gloom in threads like this really grinds my gears, and sometimes the frustration comes bubbling up. I'll see myself out now.

The day after the coup attempt our DOJ should have put a hundred FBI agents on the case. DOJ has the clout not the select committee. People can't avoid or run out the clock on appearing before a grand jury.

Why do the people funding the coup get a pass? The Mercers and Kochs want to destroy our democracy.

20. The committee has limited power

compared with DOJ. On 1/7 DOJ should have assigned 200 FBI agents to investigate the attack on our democracy. There is no delaying appearing before a grand jury. The select committee can only refer cases to DOJ for criminal prosecution.

What makes anyone think that Bannon will testify even when charged with contempt of Congress?
