(17,912 posts)I assume there's some administrative deal that's keeping Biden's admin from getting rid of him. Or some stratagem I'm not privy to perhaps? I'd like to give Biden the benefit of the doubt, but I'm really becoming annoyed by this.

So we dont trust mail-in ballots. Make sure fewer and fewer people vote.

(11,915 posts)Things were slow last summer/fall and earlier this spring, but they have been lightning fast the last few months. Packages arrive a couple days before the expected default time. Mailed a package late Thursday afternoon to a town 120 miles away which was scheduled to be delivered this upcoming Monday. It was actually delivered Friday, which was next day
Don't now what happened, but they have been excellent.

(38,454 posts)I know through Informed Delivery that there is a package that has been sitting at my local staion (about 5 blocks from me) for at least 2 days and I know now it won't be delivered until Monday at the latest. And it's not the first time.

(6,526 posts)The PO where I am will not deliver at all. I will always choose someone else to deliver if I can. Vendors should allow a choice to be made with adjustments to cost of delivery, if possible. That way a customer can take advantage of the best delivery according to their needs.
Trump did his job. And, we can't seem to get rid of the asshole he installed to destroy the USPS.

(8,703 posts)Some priority packages take one day and some 5 days going to the same person. No continuity.

(70,092 posts)i'm lucky to get mail more than once a week.
started sucking hard last summer, but has gotten a lot worse this summer.
i seem to only get mail on the days there are 1st class letters. havent had a regular carrier for long since last fall.
my regular carrier refused to wear a mask last summer, and i tried hard to get him fired. he had at least 3 suspensions for it, then disappeared. i asked the next guy if he had been fired, and was told he was just reassigned.
my post office isnt the worst in the system, but it's close. there is another one that i am convinced is the usps lunatic asylum.

(70,092 posts)i'm saying that if there is no 1st class mail, i get nothing.
and usually there are a half dozen or more pieces of 1st class. but since they dont show the date that it was posted any more, i have no idea how long they pile up.
usually it's only once a week.

(10,885 posts)A small item I ordered was mailed from Illinois on 9/21 and still hasn't arrived in RI on 10/16. I just contacted the company and they are resending the item, so it'll be interesting to see how long it takes to arrive.
In addition, it just took 11 days for a birthday card I mailed to SC to arrive. I'll be mailing Halloween cards to the grands on Monday 10/18 to be hopeful they arrive by 10/30.
Christmas this year should be a nightmare. Shop and mail as early as possible!

(43,147 posts)at great expense. I see areas they spend money and I'm just a customer. All the local PO's have had heat/glare treatment on the windows. The lobby to my little PO has been cleaned and waxed, and proudly announced it. The carpets have been sent for cleaning. These things cost money.
My question is where is the money going? You streamline, you reduce costs, you raise prices 25% over 2-3 years ... where did it go? Holiday mail has a "temporary" surcharge. I think that's to discourage the volume that swamped them last year. The extra employees and warehouses they added were undoubtedly very expensive. In fact they may be trying to recoup money from last year's red ink.
Packages and letters are a little slower for me, about 3 days. But they keep moving.

(65,173 posts)Its always important things that get screwed up. My ballot showed up in Informed Delivery days ago and didnt come yet. Just like my stimulus check was in Informed Delivery and then came a month later.
