Well Facebook Stock is down 20 points and now there is a world wide outage of Facebook and related products.

But I think one of Facebooks goals was to connect people, but it doesn't really do that successfully and I'll give an example.
A friend passed unexpectedly this Summer, he had a big influence on a ton of people because he was such a good person. We held a celebration of life for him and about 75 people showed up, it was awesome. I spent the day talking with friends I hadn't seen in person in 10 or more years. And what I learned was that Facebook doesn't keep you connected to people, it merely keeps you thinking everything is great with everyone when it isn't, it disconnects you from their reality. No one posts about their problems on Facebook, the things you need your friends support with. You can go 10 years and think everything is great with everyone, but when you see people in person you learn that they needed you and you didn't even know it. It's a shame really, it insulates us from people really, and excuses us from having to actually make a real effort to remain friends with people you care about.
