There have been several threads on DU discussing the recent comments Ann and Josh Romney made on The View regarding Mitt's emotional stability. There have also been other times when Ann Romney voiced concern for her husband's emotional well-being and described Mitt needing "mom time" for stability. This video is a compilation of those comments.
Pass it around.

John McCain had a bad temper..but, I don't remember his family having to warn the American People about his "mental stability".
When you put together your Vid with his debate performances and history of record.. there's definitely no surprise that his family, who know him the best, would think this. The surprise is that they brought it up on national tv.
Edit: cleared up some typos
Oilwellian
(12,647 posts)After putting it all together, I felt a little stunned about it. One has to wonder if the family subconsciously doesn't want Mittens to win. Very very bizarro stuff they've said...to the media that has FAILED to ask a follow up question, EVER!

Weren't they whining about him 4 years ago because of the kind of mustard he liked or something? Don't know..don't have a tv but I read about how they go after Dems..a la "Dean's Scream" and keep they mouths zipped about stupid shite mitt pulls.
Too bad..they'd have a gold mine if they weren't trying so hard to get him elected.

But if you really want to bust some republican balls, it don't get much better than the Howie Carr column comments section to drive their blood pressure up. Right now the fight is about the high cheekbone Liarwatha Warren and their boyfriend Scottie "stolen valor" Brown senatorial race.

(12,647 posts)Mitt's "the trees are just the right height" quote but then remembered his grits story down south. For his family to express it so clearly....they are mentally ill
as well. They are eager to tell us because they feel we will feel sorry
and vote for him.
They want him to be president of course...at any cost to our country.

(16 posts)He did have a very serious concussion after the 1968 car accident. It is possible that he is developing dementia/Alzheimer's.
Please check out this link for the signs and symptoms.
http://www.emedicinehealth.com/dementia_in_head_injury/article_em.htm
*He is very "manic" in some of his speeches.
*He is very disorganized in his speaking.
*He angers easily and becomes verbally aggressive with little provocation.
*He can't seem to remember his own policies.
I've seen this behavior before when I worked as a nursing assistant, long term adult care.
The symptoms may not be related to his head trauma, but it does make it more likely for him to develop dementia as he gets older.
Another thing to consider is that after each debate and the RNC, he has taken a "break". No campaigning, no appearances.
I thought at first it might be to give his wife a break (Ann has MS and may need some downtime of her own), but in conjunction with the symptoms of dementia it makes sense. Conventions and debates are extremely stressful and can trigger more extreme/obvious signs of dementia.

(57,936 posts)He cannot seem to help himself. He has to talk over everyone. And it isn't strategy. He is really hyper. I thought maybe he was on something in the first two debates.
There is something wrong with him.

(53,410 posts)Good video! I hope it gets a very large viewership because I'm beginning to really worry now.
I think at the end of the 2nd debate when Ann and the boys looked like they were circling the wagons around him and they quickly led him off stage they knew he was getting dangerously close to showing his true colors. Actually I'm wondering if that famous string of photos of Ann and Josh(sp ?) looking like their glaring at President Obama wasn't really a look of angst and fear that Romney was about to expose his true character. They could have been looking over Obama's head straight at Romney. The first time I saw those photos it seemed they weren't quite looking at Obama. Of course it's really impossible to tell so I won't assume they weren't.
Certainly Ann rushed down to the stage and held his stiff arms while they kissed. That could have been a moment when she was reassuring him or getting him to calm down. I'm beginning to see he has a nasty, domineering temper. It was pretty plain to see in that debate the way he cut Obama off and the way he treated Candy Crowley. He's obviously so used to being the Alpha that he probably didn't even realize what he was doing.

(12,647 posts)In the video clip where Ann is wearing her $800 TShirt, it begins with her describing Mitt during their high school years, and the pranks he played. At that point, she pulls her arm out of his hands and for a slight second, she nearly went into protective mode. That told me that even Ann believes some of the despicable things Romney did are naturally repulsive, and she couldn't help but pull away from him when remembering those events. Subconscious body language to be sure. I suspect one could spend days watching the body language in this video.

(12,647 posts)Let's get this video out there today! There's a window of opportunity to put this at the top in YouTube's political videos forum. Go to the YouTube page, click like and leave a comment. That helps bump it up. Don't be fooled by the number of views on YouTube. Those are the actual hard hit numbers on the page...what isn't showing yet are the number of views from embeds. Quite a few people have embedded the video and I suspect a lot more will do the same throughout the day. So far, it's been great feedback, a few think it's over the top, but hey, at least I didn't use scary music in the background.
Thanks to everyone for your awesome comments and debate.

During an important election to decide the fate and direction of a country, a voter is likely to consider a candidates consistency of actions, values, methods, principles, and expectations, as well as outcomes from previous experience in political office before supporting a candidate. Many voters contemplate a candidates honesty and truthfulness, or accuracy of actions, before deciding to cast their vote, and few would choose a candidate renowned for lies and hypocrisy because it defines the candidate as morally deficient with anti-social tendencies. Americans are witnessing a morally deficient candidate for the presidency, and if it is not obvious by now that Willard Mitt Romney is a pathological liar, a hypocrite, and deceitful in words and deeds, it is about time his possible mental illness, Antisocial Personality Disorder (ASP), is exposed to the American people.
An individual suffering from ASP is calculating, manipulative, frequently charming and alluring, and fits the clinical portrait matching depictions of con artists and predators found in literature, and is masterful at using machinations of a criminal who fails to conform to social norms with respect to lawful behaviors. Some criteria psychologists use to diagnose ASP are deceitfulness, as indicated by repeatedly lying, conning others for personal profit, and lacking remorse or rationalizing having caused harm. Besides persistent lying, Romney demonstrates an innate inability to care about harming others borne out of narcissism, elevated self-worth, and a sense of extreme entitlement and cannot tolerate authority figures. If these criteria seem suspiciously similar to convicted felons and life-criminals, it is because over one-third of the prison population suffers from different degrees of ASP and, like Romney, they have a childhood history of the disorder.
Over the course of the campaign, stories of Willards childhood bullying and disregard for people other than himself abound, and besides chasing and holding down a gay classmate and cutting his hair, there are other instances of his disregard for others. Romneys impersonating a police officer is not just a prank, and victims of Romneys faux law enforcement attention may have a different opinion of his behavior that contradicts the portrait of the squeaky-clean Mormon boy. Indeed, Romney carried his disregard for young Americans into college when he protested in favor of sending young men to fight and die in Viet Nam while his religious deferments allowed him to luxuriate in a French castle while he proselytized French people into his cult.
Willard carried his disregard for other people with him to Bain Capital where he repeatedly lied and conned unwitting companies and shareholders into believing that, under Bain management, their firms would flourish only to end up in bankruptcy as Romney and his partners pillaged their assets, shuttered businesses, and raided employees pensions all for personal profit. Romneys narcissism drives him to claim he saved the Salt Lake City Olympics, but he is remiss to give credit to the American taxpayer who funded his efforts to the tune of $1.5 billion, and then destroyed records to conceal malfeasance and cronyism related to his Mormon business associates. He continued covering tracks at the end of his failed term as Massachusetts governor when he charged taxpayers for wiping computers to conceal internal correspondence, and his bankruptcy gang repeated the cover-up practice by destroying books and records in the eToys bankruptcy between 1999 and 2001. Old habits die hard, but especially when they are borne of a cognitive disorder like ASP.
