Perhaps this recent story of the missing/presumed murdered Gabby Petito will help find Daniel Roginson:

Gabby Petito case draws renewed attention to missing Buckeye geologist Daniel Robinson

After authorities on Sunday announced that they may have found the remains of Gabby Petito in Wyoming, a viral tweet reminded the public to keep 24-year-old Daniel Robinson in mind — a geologist who went missing in the desert just outside of Buckeye a little over two months ago.

But that was not all: A petition made by the Robinson family was created two weeks ago with the intention of holding accountable the Buckeye Police Department, the investigative agency on the case.

The petition has garnered more than 8,000 signatures as of Monday afternoon.

In it, his father David Robinson states he has done more to find his son than the law enforcement agency since Daniel went missing.

Father hires private investigator to find missing son last seen in Ariz. desert

Daniel Robinson is 5-feet, 8-inches tall, weighs 165 pounds, has black hair and brown eyes, and he’s missing part of an arm.

A South Carolina man has hired a private investigator and started an online petition to help him find his missing son.

Daniel Robinson, 24, was last seen driving away from his job site in the Buckeye, Arizona desert on June 23.

His father, David Robinson, has been organizing search parties, launched a website, and he even hired a private investigator after he felt law enforcement authorities weren’t providing much help.

Robinson graduated from the College of Charleston two years ago with a major in archaeology. He moved to Arizona to temporarily work for Matrix New World Engineering and was a field geologist, according to local reports.

Jeff McGrath, the investigator, said Daniel was driving a blue/gray 2017 Jeep Renegade, which — according to its black box — was involved in a crash, he says. It was found in a ravine, its airbag deployed, and it appeared to have landed on its side.

According to McGrath, vehicle data indicates it was driven for 11 miles after the initial crash, more accidents occurred, and it was cranked up an additional 40 times afterward.

The young man’s clothing, cellphone, wallet and keys were found at the scene, and a search was launched but Daniel has not been discovered. In early July, the Arizona Civil Air Patrol reportedly conducted an extensive daylong search for him by air and land.

The search for missing geologist Daniel Robinson continues in Buckeye

Daniel's car and some of his belongings were found a month after he disappeared. Then, a human skull was found near the site at the end of July. After detectives ran tests and found the skull was not Daniel's, hope remained that Daniel might still be found. Now, Daniel's family is hoping his case will get as much attention as Gabby Petito's has recently had.

But day's like today, where Daniel's dad David had to put some of Daniel's belongings in storage, are never easy.

"Going through his things, he's not there to tell us what he wants or what he doesn't want," David said. "So that kind of stuff is kind of hard so far."

After months of public searches and gatherings to help develop new leads in the search for Daniel, as well as hiring a private investigator, mounting costs have forced David to consider heading home to South Carolina.

I would heed it but I don't know how to link from a story to here at DU. A side effect from my seizures. As I have said in other posts regarding FaceBook, I go there for support from the different brain tumor groups, neurofibromatosis groups and grief.

I hope that another DUer will keep us up today on Daniel Robinson.

I did not know about your health issues. I'm glad you found a community that is helpful to you there.

I followed this story a bit when it broke and will try to keep an eye out for updates. However, if something breaks on a FB source, perhaps you could just post a couple of sentences about it here in your own words, rather than trying to cut/paste from FB.

with the request that someone with more skills than me can provide a link. For example I can share that az central has a story regarding the Robinson family and then a helpful member here at DU can provide the link.

Living here in Arizona the story was covered more than in other states. I was surprised when Joy Reid said she had not heard about it until recently.
