(6,874 posts)not to sue the woman herself.
I honestly don't know whether that makes it any less bad, or worse.
It's pretty clear the result will be to terrify potential supporters into withholding help through fear ... which will make the affected women far more desperate ... and, remember, "desperate" means "without hope."

(4,660 posts)Women in Texas can all start reporting each other for having abortions. Report women of all ages. Let them come for the post-menopausals, the old crones (like me, if I lived there). Maybe I'm having an abortion! Use your time and money to find out!
This idea. Flood the lines.

An anti-abortion website in Texas that is calling for people to send anonymous tips about people accessing and assisting abortions has banned at least one pro-choice user from the website for submitting a fake tip.
Peña tweeted a link to the website with a sarcastic message about what it would mean for the website to be spammed with messages that abused the system.
Gosh, I wonder if they factored in people abusing the integrity of this system. Hmmm I hope ppl dont abuse this! That would be terrible, she wrote in a tweet on Friday.

The anonymous tip form allows for people to share attachments of evidence of the violation. Pro-choice advocates like Peña are making full use of it.
All my free time today is spamming [the website] with goatse and furry porn, one Twitter user wrote.

(34,136 posts)Others have shared tips on how to disrupt the anonymous tip-off site run by supporters of Texas abortion ban
If you thought that Shrek was just a swamp-dwelling hypebeast, then think again. As of this week, pro-choice advocates have also adopted NSFW clips of the animated ogre to troll an anti-abortion whistleblowing website in Texas, in scenes that are being compared to TikToks longstanding feud with Donald Trump.
Admittedly, that sentence is a lot to take in, so first some background. Starting on September 1 this year, Texas is set to enact a near-total abortion ban, after the states so-called heartbeat bill was signed into law by the governor, Greg Abbott, back in May. The law makes very few exceptions, including for pregnancy by non-consensual sex, and will prohibit women from seeking abortions after six weeks.
>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Despite widespread criticism and lawsuits from abortion rights activists, supporters of the ban have been preparing for it to come into effect, inviting people to turn in those they suspect of breaching the law via an anonymous form. Hosted on prolifewhistleblower.com, the tip line encourages users to help enforce the Texas Heartbeat Act anonymously by providing information and evidence in the form of visual attachments.
Enter: Shrek erotica. Since supporters of the pro-choice movement caught wind of the anonymous snitching site, theyve shared various ways to disrupt it on social media. As one Reddit post sarcastically reads: It would be a shame if we all made bogus tips, making the whole system useless.

(32,639 posts)The "anonymous" form allows people to submit anything about anyone in Texas. But they can still trace it back to you, unless you use a VPN (Virtual Private Network) to submit it.
We know this is going to be 99% abused by jokers and kids on Reddit, but you should still attempt to use caution. Just sayin'

(20,760 posts)"I received a phone call from a woman in Texas, I think it was in Austin but it might have been Amarillo, who told me she was going to go get pregnant and then take Plan B "just to fuck with them" and I think this is terrible, they shouldn't have to actually copulate with a man to do this so I suggested she could try breaking into a sperm bank and stealing a whole lot of specimens and organizing a state-wide protest of women deliberately getting pregnant and then taking Plan B just to fuck with y'all.
So if you hear about a break in at a sperm bank, you'll know it's coming."

He just bought a new car and it has 4 doors! And the windows are tinted!
He "says" he is a salesman. He is often gone for a week and when he comes back the car is very dusty.
He speaks Spanish.
I think he is taking girls to Nuevo Laredo to let them have abortions.
Please investigate this and send my money to my account at Aaron's furniture rentals.

I don't know exactly how many legislators in Texas voted for this bill, but that's a lot of driving to abortion providers. I have my work cut out for me.

(326 posts)Anonymously report every Texas Republican politician of aiding and abetting the facilitation of an illegal abortion. Make sure that Ted Cruz is reported at least twice daily, Abbott four times, Paxton twelve, and Dan Patrick 50 times. And what the hell, throw in Rand Paul, Ron Johnson, and Lindsey Graham for seeking illegal out of state abortions.

(24,653 posts)It's a classic, pitiable case of adults praising kids for "saving the world," without considering that kids shouldn't have to. In an ideal world, zoomers would have the peace to be able to use TikTok solely to learn dumb dances, or use Twitter just to subtweet irritating classmates. But instead, they're stuck living in a world where they have to orchestrate mass, online efforts to foil the anti-abortion movement's frequent diabolical, dehumanizing plans.
My generation shouldn't have had to have peace rallies and anti-war marches either. But we did because we cared. I love these internet activists!
