In the debate Romney said:
On day one, I will label China a currency manipulator, which will
allow me as president to be able to put in place, if necessary,
tariffs where I believe that they are taking unfair advantage of our
manufacturers.
So he is going to impose tariffs on Chinese goods. We sure want Mr. "Change Positions Every Two Minutes" pushing trade war buttons. I guess that is the idea. We want to trust Mr. Bain to decide what is fair and unfair. I get it. He's known to be so steadfast in his principles and fair in his business dealings. Right. Good old "Shoot first and aim later" Mitt. We sure need his input.

That is what he and his buddies will do. Simply manipulate the market.
Of course, I might just be cynical.

(13,180 posts)Romney could start a full-scale trade war. His tariffs would become a huge indirect tax increase on the American consumer.
But the kicker with Romney as always is that he says he would only be tough on "unfair" things China does. And he is the exact opposite of who we want determining what is unfair to U.S. workers.
