Sadly, I think I agree with Michael Steele.

Wieselberg doesn't seen like he going to 'flip', his ties to Trump, while almost certainly as one sided, appear deeper and longer than Michael Cohen, for one example, and regretably he may be actually willing to repay Trump's largess by taking a federal charge and jail time even though should the situation be reversed, Trump would drawn up an illuminated manuscript of every illegal done since they met blaming it all on him to avoid jail time.

I hope I'm wrong. I really want to see the orange sherbet colored bastard -finally- face real repercussions, maybe I just pessimistic after seeing so many "We got 'em now!' moments land with dull thud and being cynical.

I wonder if he would flip if they arrest his son.

Although he might be too afraid to flip. The Russian mob would not like it.

If he goes to prison keeping his mouth shut, they live and thrive.

His family will he amply rewarded.

He's 73 years old. He well understands the risk/rewards of crossing the Mob and he'll endure the jail time with "honor" even if he dies there. Even more bennies for his family

still think he will flip when faced with prison time away from his family? She has been on TV quite a bit and it seems I saw her just last night saying he's still in play.

What exactly makes her qualified to give any opinion, other than the fact she was married to his son at some point? I'm taking everything she says with a grain of salt. There's no indication the Grand Jury has asked for her testimony, and that says a lot IMO.

Jennifer Weisselberg says she spoke with prosecutors several times during the investigation into the Trump Organization’s taxes and finances, as reported by NBC News. In April, she turned over several boxes of documents to the Manhattan District Attorney’s office. CNN reported the documents included “bank account and credit card records, tax records, statements of net worth, and other financial records.”

The feds would be very interested in physical documents and their provenance. They wouldn't be interested in presenting hearsay to a court during trial.

They only need her to the extent they need the document sourcing and chain of custody documented.

I doubt she was in any meetings in-person, or an actual principal of the organization. The court wouldn't be interested in what her husband told her, except in relation to what the documents say.

…and I mean past all hope of recovery — that they would have to return to the ancestral whorehouse. I would be satisfied if the entire family was riven by bloodthirsty internal fighting, and that no one outside their family would have anything to do with them.

That would be okay.

One of the most senior officials in the Trump Organization has testified before a special grand jury empaneled by the Manhattan District Attorney's office to hear evidence against former President Donald Trump and his company, sources with direct knowledge of the matter told ABC News.

Jeff McConney is among a number of witnesses that have already appeared before the special grand jury that will decide whether criminal charges are warranted against the former president, his company or any of its employees, the sources said.

"In any case like that, the two most important people -- whether as targets or witnesses -- are the company's CFO and the company's controller," Alonso told ABC News.

McConney was mentioned by Trump in his 2004 book, "TRUMP: Think Like a Billionaire: Everything You Need to Know About Success, Real Estate, and Life." In a chapter titled "How to Stay on Top of Your Finances," Trump describes an interaction he says he had with McConney in the late 1980s in which Trump implored McConney to always question invoices and never accept a contractor's first bid.

although that doesn't mean much. Having started out working for his father, and having spent all those years in the books, he seems as culpable as Trump. Funny they're about the same age, and they started working for Sr. at about the same time. He went through it all. Probably got tips from Roy Cohn.

what the feds can do to his kids vs what the Russians could do to them.

I doubt he is worried about his own freedom at this point. Something is scarier than his kids in prison for a decade or so.

Faced with a credible threat, I'm not sure my calculus would be any different.
