(7,947 posts)It sounds like a real "Scheme"-- that is, they went out of their way to cheat. It's not,"oops, I forgot to report this $4K I got playing illegal poker," but for years they altered payroll and expense records, so there's that extra dollop of fraud.
So there'd also be lying, as Weisselberg would have to sign his own tax returns, and also presumably Trump would have to sign the corporate returns..?
Judges have a lot of discretion, but there's definitely evidence of going out of their way to trick the revenuers.
