Sometimes he gets it right . . . this sounds right to me.
Obama is expected to step things up on Tuesday after what many felt was a lackluster performance at the first presidential debate. Pundits seem to agree that the stakes are high for the president. Scarborough, however, asserted that the pressure is trained on Romney during the Q&A session because the candidate is "just not as comfortable around people."
He explained: "Barack Obama at his best is when he's on stage without a teleprompter walking back and forth playing off an audience. Mitt Romney at his worst is in that same situation when he's trying to relate to the kids talking about sport ball he's not good at it."

(5,842 posts)Morning Joe has been a daily three-hour infomercial for Romney ever since the primary season ended.
The only thing that will keep Joe from declaring this a draw or win for Mitt is if Mitt comes close to being perceived as outright dismissing a question as nonsense or otherwise insulting the person who asked the question (as he has been known to do).

(14,337 posts)no matter the trolls for Romney they put there. My daugther tried for weeks to get tickets, volunteer, but no chance. She lives 5 miles from Hofstra.

If anything, Romney should have an advantage since he "won" the first debate - according to (un)Holy Joe.

(7,736 posts)Yet, you can't make a stiff personable and natural socially if he's not. The President is authentic and relaxed around people. When it comes natural it doesn't need to be practiced.

(16,350 posts)Setting the bar high for the POTUS just so they can say he failed. Obama will do fine tonight by just telling the truth. Call bullshit when he hears it. And tell the truth about Romney and Ryan.

(34,845 posts)Not only do we have the most personable and intelligent candidate in a long time, but the Republicans have one of the worst candidates in a long time -pretty much a Sarah Palin running for President.
The old ways are dying and the 'real' 21st century is just now getting underway.

(1,828 posts)I have to wonder if he's being told by higher-ups that it has to stay close, so tonight belongs to President Obama. The media managed to knock the president's lead out with the last debate, successfully making this a real horserace. Now their job is to make sure it doesn't swing wildly to either candidate at this point, because they want to make it ALL ABOUT THE FINAL DEBATE!
I'm convinced the media will push Obama's comeback so they can push up ratings for debate No. 3.
And poor Joe. He'll want to spin for Romney, but he may not be allowed to. Certainly not the way he set on President Obama like the rabid dog he is after the first debate.

(21,475 posts)Oh Oh Joe might get his ass thrown under the bus for this remark.. the right wing has invested a lot into the meme that Obama can't do anything without a teleprompter.. They want to pretend Obama is not very bright and only parrots what others have written for him....
