Bernie Sanders has voice to very undesirable people.
I know this post is going to be altered on under the "support democrats" rule.
I submit to the people who will serve on the jury that Ms. Turner doesn't support Democrats, and Bernie Sanders isn't a Democrat anyway so my posts should stay up.

(67,782 posts)....she and her followers held a "People's Convention" at which they decided to formally form a political party (their formation in 2017 wasn't as a "political party" .
Had they been better prepared and gotten registered in Ohio, Nina Turner would be running in November on the "People's Party" line. As it is, she is instead reluctantly running as a Democrat.

(7,263 posts)My high regard for Nina goes back to a rally she held on our town square back when Shrub & Co. were beating war drums. So many of us were depressed, desperate for any shred of hope. We walked away from her barnburner filled with optimism and respect for our senator.
I'm looking forward to casting my vote for her again and sending another member of the Squad to Congress.

But as of now, Autumn, almost 1/10th of ALL of her expenditures went to the "Research" company that conducted the poll.
Most of the polls that were "wrong" about trump were conducted by independent pollsters, Autumn, not pollsters that were paid BY the candidate who "won".
I'd wait until a credible, independent poll comes out before getting excited, Autumn.

That's a far cry from "all the state senate Democrats in her District".
In fact, Cuyahoga County is only a small part of OH-11 (roughly 25-30%), Autumn. And "all" those state senators are a total of three, Autumn. Those three state senators represent probably about a quarter of OH-11.
The media and "press releases" are playing fast and loose with the facts and misrepresenting them, Autumn.

A lot of people who are Democrats have voted for an Independent or green because they have voted their consciences, stayed home or voted for someone else they preferd, past polls have shown that . In most elections that Independent vote has not made a damn bit of difference but sadly enough it did matter in two.

(67,782 posts)As for two years on the Cleveland city council, Shontel Brown served an equal amount of time, two years, on the Cuyahoga County Council, and still is on the council. Cleveland is just one of many municipalities within Cuyahoga county.
Cleveland: 325,000 people
Cuyahoga County: 1,235,000 people

No doubt this is good news for Turner, but I am reminded what happened before the South Carolina primary. Everyone had written Biden off, and then the South Carolina primary happened, and candidates dropped out, and unified behind one candidate, which made the very real chance for a contested primary zero.
This isnt a national election, but one district in Ohio, so things are different, but it follows a pattern what happens when you have too many candidates in a race.
Trump got in the republican primary in 2016, because there were too many candidates in their primary, and they effectively eliminated each other, and trump had the larger base
Unless some of the single digit candidates drop out, this is Turners race to lose

(1,725 posts)Her dark side would have to be exposed so that people know. This district (mine) has been spoiled with Louis Stokes, followed by Stephanie Tubbs-Jones, followed by Marcia Fudge. Spoiled, have never even had to pay attention to primaries. Now we're going to pay for it because voters don't know what she's really like.
They don't know, and only people who follow politics closely know her history. Until rather recently no one would imagine someone running as a Democrat hating Democrats.
If I had never read DU or posted here, I would know nothing about her beyond her pro-Bernie interviews back in 2016.

(7,153 posts)There's no evidence in the biographies of their five named staff that any are actual polling professionals, though Ben Tulchin claims experience with some polling companies. What that experience entailed is anyone's guess.
And, speaking of guesses, there's no need to make one here, courtesy of his own biography:
BTW, no crosstabs for this poll, conducted via landlines, cell phones, emails and texts, but we do know that the MOE is 4%.
I'll venture that this "poll" was commissioned by the Turner campaign.

A little background on this "pollster", Autumn. They've conducted only three credible polls over the years, two in California in 2010 (that's 11 years ago) and one in NY in 2018, in which they were wrong, Autumn.
Also, Autumn, based on all the tweets in post #40 here, they've had a close working relationship with Sanders and his people over the years. You do recall, Autumn, that Nina Turner was one of Sanders' co-chairs.
This is not a poll result upon which I'd hand my hat, Autumn.

By the way, as recently noted in this discussion, Tulchin Research boasts on their website that they were "most recently served as Bernie Sanderss pollster in the U.S. Senators presidential campaign", so inasmuch as Turner was Sanders' (NOT Sanders's as he incorrectly states) was the house pollster of a candidate for which Turner was co-chair, that further proves the lack of credibility of this poll and the pollster.
Guess what, Nina Turner paid Tulchin Research $80,000 for "consulting" this year!!! What a shock!

In addition to Antonio, Ohio Senate Minority Leader Kenny Yuko and Minority Whip Sandra Williams have backed Turner in her bid for the Ohio 11 congressional special election.
