My County Has Adopted A Paper-Ballot Voting System! (UPDATE)

I received a sample ballot for the June primaries (New Jersey has state elections this year, including for Governor)

Last year I dropped my ballot in the ballot drop-box.

This year it is a bit different.

This was on my new sample ballot:

"Essex County has adopted a new, state-of-the-art, paper-ballot voting system, which offers the highest level of election security."

After filling out the paper ballot:

"You will then insert your own ballot into the scanner, which records your vote electronically."

1. Good! In STLMO, we still retain the ability to vote either by machine or by paper. I've always

voted by paper. And of course there is a paper receipt too.

Thanks for reporting on this good news. Now all we have to do is replicate this in every state that doesn't have this ability.

I voted today in the NJ primary! It was easy! Just inserted my paper ballot into the scanner!

Voted the straight-A Democratic ticket!
