Nobody can prove anything on Donald Trump. They just don't have the proof.
But, what crimes do you think he has committed?
Why is it so difficult to bring charges against him?

(30,613 posts)So I can't agree with the premise of your poll. We have proof of many of his crimes.

(95,170 posts)Because "we know he did it" isn't the legal basis for an indictment. Unless you're claiming that Garland, James and Vance are incompetent, you're just going to have to wait.

(111,111 posts)That's how long he has been committing crimes, or longer?

(27,822 posts)On what basis have you determined that 'they just don't have the proof'?
Who said it was 'difficult to bring charges against him'? If the proof is there, there is no difficulty at all. Putting a legal case together takes time - so the question here is: do you want it fast and sloppy, or do you want it slow and iron-clad?

(111,111 posts)I hear that all the time. When, in fact, he has committed some of these crimes in public for all to see. But some people keep saying, it takes time to get the evidence...
NanceGreggs
(27,822 posts)... it takes time to get the evidence because it takes time to get the evidence.

(111,111 posts)But we are not accustomed to seeing it so starkly presented. The system does not seem capable of convicting Donald Trump of anything, it appears? And it's not because he is innocent. He plays the system.

(18,486 posts)And the same people would also have an awful lot to say if a prematurely brought case resulted in a dismissal or acquittal.
But as you sit on those sidelines, constantly perseverating about what's not being done and how it won't ever happen, the people who actually have the responsibility are moving along, gathering evidence, presenting it to a grand jury and building their case. And at each step, I have no doubt that the armchair experts will continue to whine, criticize and second-guess. It's what they do.
NanceGreggs
(27,822 posts)... might not be accepted as evidence in a courtroom.
Yeah, Trump plays the system. So did Al Capone and John Gotti - who were both inevitably convicted and died in prison, despite having been declared 'untouchable' and 'Teflon' by the majority of citizens and the news media of the day.

The proof is there. The evidence is being pored over now.
And .... you forgot rape on your list.
