Maintenance, provide roadside assistance, etc.)
Mainly because of inertia, Ive kept it this long. Now I think Im wasting my money and will get rid of it.
Do you have Onstar or HUM or something similar? If you do why do you have it?

(3,050 posts)I have never used it and of course the one time I needed it I had let it lapse.

(12,504 posts)when driving through BC, the Yukon, and parts of Alaska, there is absolutely no cell phone service for many miles, so Starlink will call Subaru Roadside Assistance for me, and let me know when to expect to see the flatbed tow.
If you live in a remote area, or in heavy snow country it might be worth keeping.

(4,608 posts)A tow is supposed to cost $75. The one time I used the service, I had to pay full price+ for the tow. The battery on my 98 4Runner died and stranded me in the middle of the night during a huge snowstorm. It wouldnt jump, the alternator had conked out. I waited in the truck for over 5 hours for the tow truck (which I understand) and had to pay $300 (which pissed me off).
Its not Onstar or Hum, I just needed to vent, lol!
Its been months and I am still salty about it.
