Go to Jenner's photo ops and "press conferences", regurgitate her team's handouts and talking points - most of the work is already done. It's easier than going out and actually doing some independent investigation or asking serious questions about her experience, platform, and ideas.

Plus, Jenner has name recognition, and since she's been in the public eye for decades, anytime the media has space to fill they can just dig up old items about Jenner's Olympic days, or doings with the Kardasian clan, or whatever.
