new trend... males want their own engagement rings

Grooms-to-be increasingly want their own engagement bling, a trend that Tiffany & Co. helped solidify when it debuted its first-ever men’s engagement line this month.

Tiffany’s platinum and titanium designs feature a single emerald-cut diamond, up to 5 carats, set in a knife-edge band in what the jewelry retailer described as a “bold departure from the traditional wedding band.”

Prices have not yet been revealed for the new designs, which are set to become available at the end of the month, but emerald-cut women’s engagement rings run from $2,900 to $113,500.

The luxury label first introduced its iconic, six-pronged Tiffany setting for ladies in 1886 — and betrothed bros took to social media to say the new collection was long overdue

5. I inherited a diamond ring from my great aunt that looked a lot like the second ring in the OP image

She had inherited the diamond from her grandmother in a traditional setting, but as a phys ed professor that was not practical. She had the stone reset into a flush type platinum mounting. Unfortunately for me, that ring was far too small for me and with that design couldn't be resized for my fat fingers. So I followed the family tradition and had it reset into a filigree setting. Waste of money since I don't wear jewelry and the ring just sits in a box.

8. We should start wearing our jewelry, especially the heirlooms.

Our grandmothers would love it.

I started using my China for every day and I am really enjoying it.
No sense it was just sitting in a cupboard.

9. I got out of the habit of wearing jewelry while running a horse farm

One of my favorite pieces, a custom made pendant made of white gold, was almost lost when I was punched in the face by a filly at a horse show. She knocked me out and the pendant was no longer around my neck. It wasn't until later, after the emergency room visit, that I found it inside my bra - the chain had broken and that is where it ended up.

Now I am so out of the habit, it is not comfortable for me to wear them I don't. Besides, for me dressing up is a nice pair of jeans or khakis with a tee shirt that has a nice picture on it. Diamonds just don't go with that kind of clothes!

Due to the pandemic and some health issues.
Diamonds don't quite go with the outfit.

But my daughter is graduating with a Master's degree this coming weekend and I am going to put on a nice outfit and dig out my diamond earrings. And a nice necklace.

If I can find them.

I am glad you found your pendant, yes best not to wear anything nice at the horse farm.

7. Like my high school class ring was a smaller version of what the boys were wearing.

My ring size is 4, so it was small, but really pretty like the pictures above we are seeing.

Small fingers but I chose the larger design, just reduced. The "female" style didn't even resemble a typical class ring, which is what I wanted.

It would fit on a man's pinkie finger, if he didn't have real big hands.

My husband picked out a matching white gold band.

I snuck back and bought him one with two black and one white diamond channeled in. Simple and elegant - like him.
