(9,823 posts)in my view; I called myself an atheist for several years. People who think deeply about the big questions tend to reject dogma, and also tend to value scientific consensus.
I dont claim to be an atheist now, but I sure got vaccinated as soon as I could.

(17,337 posts)Where did you find god? I'm not asking because I'm seeking an opportunity to condemn your beliefs. I'm genuinely curious, if you care to share.

(9,823 posts)of God can exist. Recently, Ive been reading a quite marvelous book called A Course of Love, kind of a sequel to A Course in Miracles, that treats this theology, along with the apparent problems of evil and suffering, in a compelling way.
An encouraging aspect of this view of individual and general awakening is that the extreme global conditions of the present days could actually encourage and accommodate the kind of turning, away from fear and greed and toward earth community, that we need.

(11,387 posts)because the behavior difference between Protestant denominations is significantly between black and white churches. Much less in Catholic congregations.
Edit: would appear that you are also correct in-so-far as numbers. 4% of Catholic numbers -- and many of those going to 'black churches.'

(11,387 posts)a chart (or graph) really isn't telling the true story -- if 20% of the population just -- 'disappears.' So you either stick them in somewhere (other) -- or start out with a huge caveat about what your graph really means.

(2,220 posts)That said, I would bet the ten percent Atheist holdouts are members of the incel population. It is interesting that godless heathens are more likely to be recognized by Jesus than Christians are.

(6,139 posts)atheist are humanists, we believe in facts supported by empirical evidence. At this time it is not possible to believe and science at the same time but it is possible to be religious and believe in science at the same time. This is precisely because religion was created by people (men). The graph above illustrates how being religious is dangerous to human life.

(6,697 posts)the stupidest group of white people on the planet. Not because of vaccine hesitancy.
I've lived in and around these people all my life. These are the ones who send Robert Tilton $1000 to prove they love Jesus and get back a 4x4" shamwow guaranteed to wipe off the devil.
And no, I'm not joking.

Is this because of age? Or is it that we tend to be procrastinators?
