Julia Chatterley, CNN correspondent at the funeral

Is sickeningly waxing poetic about the love affair and Queen’s despondency over the loss. I get some romanticizing but she is over the top.

Fairy tale stuff. I’m not buying it...

yet forgetting how impossible that was for most people who haven't seen their nonresiding family members in more than a year, much less the millions who could not be with them in the hospital, at death, nor to hold a funeral of any kind.

This was ABC, who, I think are generally being more sensitive, but still... Damn.

Sometimes they DO need to think through their comments before they make them.

I will personally contact you and ask you what I’m permitted to think feel and say. In the future, I shall subject myself to censorship in order not to be able to express an opinion which tens of millions of other people possess. I don’t want you to be upset, I don’t want you to be agitated or put upon by me having an opinion or feelings.

Goodness, such hatred toward someone who’s never done a thing to you, nor ever heard of you.

I’ll never get the need some here seem to have to make negative comments toward the dead, whoever they may have been.

Just sit back and enjoy the pageantry, for Pete's sake! The Brits do it better than ANYBODY. It's the closest most of us will ever get to the fairy tale kind.

Enjoy the pageantry, and the fact that you don't have to help pay for it.

Stop and think about this being another one of those events the grandkids will read about, but YOU got to witness.

Stop and think about the concept of widowhood after literally a lifetime with your partner. For ANY woman. And the odds do appear to show that many of us women will outlive our men. Frankly, I find myself thinking about that A LOT, as we grow older. I also found myself mumbling - "poor Queenie. Poor Queenie" and feeling a major sense of sympathy for her. Seventy-three YEARS together? Loved him since she was 13 and he 18? She rules a kingdom. Jewels and servants and courtiers and castles and all that. Almost unimaginable privilege. Yeah, I know. I know.

But I bet she'd give all that up, today, to feel his embrace around her again.

Just as one woman to another, I really feel for her today.

So far a good job. Dislike Cooper at the beginning trying to gin up the Harry story, but Richard Quest shut him down several times, which I found amusing.

And most of it hostile and defensive.

We all have days like that. I know I do. And when I do, I usually don't think I'm having a bad day. I just think everyone else is f*cking with me. And then the next day I look back at what I said and think, "Damn! I sure was having a bad day!"

I hope you feel better soon.

you see yourself as a higher-order intellect, but I see you as somewhat disruptive and negating of others’ feelings and opinions. I am entitled on this discussion board to state my views and opinions and have done so for seventeen years here. You also are entitled to your thoughts of course, but they are no more or less legitimate than anyone else’s are.

As to you pseudo-analysis of my mental state, I would differ inasmuch as I am well aware of how I feel about those who fabricate ridiculous story lines for the adoring public. I listened to that material when Trump was running the first time and give it little credence, especially when there is evidence of the opposite. That’s what I was saying. If and only if it’s all right with you.

Prince Philip had no position of legal or political authority. I can't imagine why anyone would care about his funeral if not for the celebrity focus.

Because of The Crown on Netflix and the recent interview that Harry and Meghan gave. The intrigue of the brothers’ rift, etc.

Just my two cents...

I only watched the first part with the children and grandchildren walking behind the hearse. I thought that was a lovely visual as a tribute. Saw the Queen arrive and marvel at her strength at her age.
