Can AI read your emotions? Try it for yourself

An article in the Next Web discusses the role that AI and human emotion

Don't get me wrong, AI that recognizes human sentiment and emotion can be very useful.

Dovetail Labs, a scientific research and consultancy company, recently created a website that explains how modern "Emotion recognition" systems built on deep learning work.

Dovetail Labs is demonstrating how awful emotion recognition is at recognizing human emotion.

That's bothersome because, as far as AI is concerned, I have a pretty easy to read face.

For computer scientists, my advice is do not try to be too ambitious and stick to practical things that work instead of going off and designing some grandiose AI project that backfire and create all sort of negative repercussions.

Most of the money will probably go to autonomous weapons, but home aids and sex bots will also do well. Probably the best movie on this topic is Ex Machina. You should also see Devs, Outside the Wire, and Terminator.
